More nerfs than announced! Tier 5 Raids now a joke

With the ID change of December 15, 2021, the raid instances Serpentshrine and Fortress of Storms have been noticeably toned down. In this news we want to clarify once again that more nerfs were implemented than Blizzard had communicated in advance.

Yesterday we already had a News about the changes for WoW: published that went live with the ID change on December 15, 2021, but we still have to add one piece of information, namely the actual state of the after the nerfs. Blizzard has implemented more mitigations than were announced in advance.

How hard are the tier 5 raids now?

Regarding the toning down of the Tier 5 Raids Serpentshrine and Fortress of Storms, there was some confusion beforehand. The announcement only said that the following items would change:

  • Morogrim Tidewalker: The health points of the Murlocs will be lowered to the post-nerf level.
  • Lady Vashj: Taken over players can now be controlled.
  • Kael’thas: The battle now has the post nerf state.

Problem number 1: This information is not really detailed. Problem number 2: In the original Burning Crusade there were still a lot more nerfs for the bosses and trash opponents of the two raid challenges.. However, in the patch notes of December 15, 2021, there were then no longer the above points, but:

“The Fortress of Storms and the Cave of the Serpent Shrine are now in their post-weakening state (original version of Burning Crusade 2.4.3).”

So have all the nerfs been implemented by patch 2.4.3 after all? Now we know for sure: Yep, that’s exactly the case! Across the board, enemies’ health has been reduced, mechanics have been simplified, and attacks have been weakened. Streamer Sarthe shows how the nerfs play out in this video:

Get the attunements for phase 3!

Especially the two “big hunks” Kael’thas and Lady Vashj should be easily defeated by most guilds now. Which is good, because you need their respective remains, to complete the attunements for the upcoming phase.. We are already excited to see what speedrun records the guilds will set in the next IDs. Even before the mitigations, there were raids that had Vashj down in less than 39 minutes and Kael’thas down in less than 43 minutes.
