A data leak in Apex Legends shows an enormous amount of new content. Among them are the descriptions of the next 9 heroes, new game modes, weapons and maps. How legitimate this leak is and what content you can expect in the next 27 months, you can find out here on MeinMMO.
What kind of leak is this? While Apex Legends is still running its 12th – Season and the game is still extremely successful 3 years after launch, a real bombshell is coming our way.
Because an unknown leaker has recently published a data leak of epic proportions. It is apparently an internal developer build of the game, which was uploaded as a complete folder.
Among other things, 9 new heroes can be seen in it, along with their skill descriptions. We also learn about new weapons, game modes and maps.
On reddit, the meanwhile (and very quickly) deleted info from the original upload was diligently circulated and the community is completely out of their minds. Since Apex Legends releases a new Legend every – Season and a – Season lasts 3 months, the leak should have revealed just 27 months of future content.
Is this really real? Of course, such leaks are to be taken with a grain of salt and there is no official confirmation from developer Respawn. However, we at MeinMMO have already asked publisher EA for an official statement.
However, the footage shown looks extremely real, especially the video in which the new Legends and their models can be seen.
There is a consensus in the community that this info is indeed legitimate and really the content of the next 2 years has been revealed. Also the quick deletion of the original data speaks for the fact that a top secret, internal build was really uploaded here.
However, even if all this data is 100% legitimate, development plans can change at any time. So this leak is not guaranteed to show what will happen with Apex Legends in the coming years.
The probable content of the next 27 months in Apex Legends.
These are the new heroes: The “centerpiece” of the leak are, of course, the 9 new heroes. We know all of their names, designations and a description of their skills. A few of them even have more or less finished models, while the majority are placeholders.
According to the current state of the leak, the upcoming heroes and their skills are as follows:
- Conduit (Support): This hero has the title “Empathic Shielder” and can charge shields faster and also strengthen allies this way. As an Ultimate, he can drain enemy shields and give them to himself.
- Scryer (Recon): The title of this hero is “Haunting Stalker.” This hero is a scout who apparently monitors his killer after his demise. He is also said to blind enemies and attach spy cameras to them.
- Newcastle (Defender): This hero is already well fleshed out and is titled Mobile Defender. It seems to be a mobile version of Gibraltar. He should be able to carry fallen comrades to safety while reviving them. He can also erect shields in one direction and actively rotate and move them. On top of that, he can probably jump into a target area and erect a fortification in one direction. Apparently he also got the revive shield from Lifeline.
- Uplink (Defender): This hero has the strange title of “Satellite Survivor” and has some really wacky skills. He is supposed to be able to summon a satellite that follows allies and heals and even revives them. As an Ultimate, the satellite should even prevent you from dying.
- Vantage (Recon): This heroine is titled “Survivalist Sniper.” A rough model is already available for her as well. She can spot tactical info on enemies from a distance and seems to have a bird that works like a drone. She can tag enemies for more damage, and as an Ultimate, she has a unique sniper rifle.
- Catalyst (Defender): This hero is known as the “Creative Builder.” He seems to be heavily inspired by Fortnite, as he can build ramps and towers out of a substance called “Ferro-Fluid”. He can also strengthen placeable objects, such as Rampart’s walls or Gibraltar’s shield.
- Phantom (Support): This hero is said to be an “Agile Assassin.” He can perform double jumps and swing along walls with a grappling hook. Additionally, he can send enemies into another dimension for a short time with a grenade.
- Jester: This hero is called “Tricky Trapper.” He starts with a grenade and can lay them out as mines. In addition, he should be able to summon combat robots, which then guard certain areas. As an ultimate, he has a cloaking shield that makes everyone in the vicinity invisible for 6 seconds.
- Caliber (Support): This hero has the title “Apex Arms Dealer” and is probably a weapons supplier. He can carry a third weapon(!) and place a turret that deploys one of his weapons. As an Ultimate, he can place an ammo box that provides free ammo to everyone in the vicinity without having to reload.
All this information is without guarantee and can still change until the release.
What is still to come? More info from the leak shows, among other things, the heirloom for Valkyrie, who gets a spear. There is also talk of a new map called “Divided Moon”. There are also supposed to be new arena maps and 3 new weapons. 2 of them are known by name, they are “Nemesis B-AR” and “Fanatic Energy Pistol”.
These are the reactions: On reddit, where the info continues to circulate happily since the original data was deleted, the leak has all users in a frenzy. Especially the probably next new hero Newcastle causes enthusiasm:
- “Newcastle just became my new main. This Ultimate is just IRRE!”
- “It actually looks like Rampart can set up her walls next to Newcastle to deal insane damage without risking her walls being destroyed in use.”
Listen to me! Now is the perfect time to finally get started with Apex Legends
But other heroes, like Vantage, are also highly anticipated:
- “I’m a Valk Main, but Vantage looks pretty darn awesome. Mobility, scan, and a cute little drone. I’m excited to see their drop.”
- “Vantage puts fear into Gibby, damage buff renders Fortified useless”.
Lastly, however, some users are also complaining that Lifeline, which used to be a very popular healer, could be rendered virtually obsolete by Newcastle:
Newcastle will be able to resurrect with a shield AND still move while doing so, he can also use a new shield after resurrecting. So basically he can revive in the middle of a field. Meanwhile, Lifeline is still waiting for her teammate to crawl behind a rock (if there is one), only for the teammate to die before he can even get back up.
Jesus Christ, Respawn, you guys killed Lifeline, LoL. I hope they give her the shield back in some form, because even with that she wouldn’t be comparable anymore [mit Newcastle].
Lifeline Mains, you have my fullest sympathy.
So it remains exciting in Apex Legends, if and how all this new content will come into the game and how the meta of Apex Legends will look like in the future. Currently, the new legend Mad Maggie provides aggressive gameplay.
