Mass Effect Legendary, GRID Legends, NfS Heat

Amazon promises more than 30 games, but if truth be told, there are six games that should generate the most interest. The first three are Mass Effect Legendary, GRID Legends, NfS Heat. Yes, the Legendary Edition of Mass Effect is actually three games, of course, and that is Mass Effect 1 to 3 in remastered versions with all DLCs from May 2021. The package is currently offered on Steam for 60 euros and the approval is gigantic with 93 percent. That’s where joy comes in. The Prime Gaming page still lacks a hint.

Grid Legends may not be the best game in the pot, but it’s the newest. It was only on Feb. 24, 2022, a good five months ago, that the latest installment in Codemasters’ Grid series launched. The mix of arcade and simulation with story mode didn’t go down so well with fans. But as a free game, Grid Legends is certainly not a bad choice. That should also apply to Need for Speed Heat, the latest installment in the series alongside NfS Hot Pursuit Remastered and launched in November 2019. The title has an 85 percent approval rating on Steam. Players can engage in car chases with the police and lose everything or gain reputation in the process.

Three times Star Wars for free

If you’re interested in the three free Star Wars games, you’ll have to beam yourself back to the 2000s, because the free offer doesn’t include (halfway) current titles like Jedi Fallen Order or Battlefront 2, but classics like Star Wars: Jedi Knight – Jedi Academy, Star Wars: Jedi Knight 2 – Jedi Outcast and Star Wars: Republic Commando. But Star War is Star Wars, after all, and it could be quite fun to go back to the 2000s and unpack the lightsaber and blaster. And don’t forget: In the run-up to Prime Day 2022, Amazon Prime subscribers can download over 25 PC games for free.

Update 07/12/2022: The aforementioned six additional free games, available today and Wednesday only, are now available on the Prime Gaming website. It’s best to scroll through the image carousel at the very top. The Star Wars games require the Amazon Games app to download, while Mass Effect Legends, GRID Legends, and NfS Heat are Origin versions of the games that you have to link to Amazon first.
