But who can do what? And most importantly, who can do what and how well? Let’s take a closer look at who you can choose for your team in Mario Strikers: Battle League Football.

All characters in Mario Strikers: Battle League Football

Mario

Mario has balanced stats on the whole, making him a good all-rounder. However, he has advantages in the areas of technique and shooting.

Hypershot: Fire Cyclone

Basic values:

  • Force: 11/25
  • Pace: 12/25
  • Shot: 14/25
  • Fit: 10/25
  • Technique: 16/25

Luigi

Luigi is also a versatile player who stands out primarily for his team spirit. His passes are strong, so he is well suited as a goal-scorer for teammates.

Hypershot: Whirlwind

Core values:

  • Force: 11/25
  • Pace: 11/25
  • Shot: 10/25
  • Fit: 14/25
  • Technique: 17/25

Bowser

Not only is Bowser a blast on offense, he’s rock solid on defense as well. Weak characters will have to load up their tackling to knock him down. Good for scoring goals and getting attackers off their feet.

Hypershot: Flame Ball

Basic values:

  • Force: 17/25
  • Pace: 9/25
  • Shot: 17/25
  • Fit: 11/25
  • Technique: 9/25

Peach

Peach is less known for her good finishing, but she makes up for it with her speed and through her technique. She can easily outrun opponents and dance around them, then pass the ball to a better shooter.

Hypershot: Heart Dance

Core values:

  • Force: 9/25
  • Pace: 17/25
  • Shot: 9/25
  • Fit: 13/25
  • Technique: 15/25

Rosalina

Rosalina is best suited as an attacker for your team. Her shooting power makes her a dangerous player on offense, and her strength is nothing to sneeze at when it comes to defense.

Hypershot: Allkrawall

Core values:

  • Force: 14/25
  • Pace: 9/25
  • Shot: 17/25
  • Fit: 10/25
  • Technique: 13/25

Toad

Small but mighty. As expected, Toad is very fast on the move, plus he can play good passes to the others. Only in defense he is not quite as effective. With Bowser, for instance, he just bounces off a normal tackle unless you charge it.

Hypershot: Grenade header

Core values:

  • Force: 9/25
  • Pace: 17/25
  • Shot: 11/25
  • Fit: 15/25
  • Technique: 11/25

Yoshi

Yoshi is also a good choice for the offense. He can take dangerous shots and plays precise passes on top of that. For this, the technique is not the yellow of the egg. But he is definitely a good attacking support.

Hypershot: egg dance

Core values:

  • Force: 10/25
  • Pace: 10/25
  • Shot: 17/25
  • Fit: 17/25
  • Technique: 9/25

Donkey Kong

Similar to Bowser, Donkey Kong is a powerhouse with assertiveness. In fact, though, another good quality of his isn’t his shooting, but his passing. In any case, he is a good choice for your offensive game. And he also cleans up on defense with his power.

Hypershot: Banana Cracker

Core values:

  • Force: 16/25
  • Pace: 9/25
  • Shot: 13/25
  • Fit: 16/25
  • Technique: 9/25

Wario

Wario is as much of a force as Bowser, he’s even slightly stronger than Donkey Kong. This makes him steady on offense and defense, plus he can make dangerous shots on goal when he gets into a good position.

Hypershot: Gang Shocker

Core values:

  • Force: 17/25
  • Pace: 9/25
  • Shot: 15/25
  • Fit: 13/25
  • Technique: 9/25

Waluigi

Waluigi is thin and tall, which makes him correspondingly fast. Speed and technique are not to be scoffed at with him, together with his strength this makes him a good defender, who reliably clears attackers out of the way. On the offensive, he is not the best choice.

Hypershot: Rose Cavalry

Basic values:

  • Force: 15/25
  • Pace: 16/25
  • Shot: 9/25
  • Fit: 9/25
  • Technique: 14/25

Boom Boom

You can’t play Boom Boom yourself, but he looks rock solid in front of your goal and tries to clear the ball. He performs actions automatically, for example by playing long or short passes or by knocking opponents off their feet who get too close to him. A real force in goal.
