Floating Island is an area in Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode that was added to the game at the beginning of – Season 6.[1] The island was ripped from the center of the Loot Lake area by the cube. The cube also caused the island to float. The island eventually began to move from rune to rune across the entire map. After reaching the last rune, it moved back toward Loot Lake. There it was soon destroyed by the explosion of the cube.

On September 03, 2019, the Floating Island returned to the game as part of – Season 10. The island itself is also home to the motel. Although the island is not connected to the land, it can be reached by a vortex.[2]

Entering the island

When the island was in the middle of Loot Lake, you could reach it very easily by swimming over to it. A current of air grabbed you as soon as you were under it and carried you up the height. There you could then unpack your hang glider and land on the island.

• September 27, 2018: The Floating Island appears for the release of the sixth – Season .
• October 01, 2018: Floating Island has migrated to the rune southwest of Pleasant Park.
• October 04, 2018: The Island has migrated to the rune next to Shifty Shafts.
• October 06, 2018: The island has migrated to the rune northwest of Fatal Fields.
• October 10, 2018: the island has reached the southern rune near Retail Row.
• October 14, 2018: The island has migrated to the rune at Wailing Woods.
• October 16, 2018: The island has migrated to the rune next to Lazy Links.
• October 19, 2018: The island has migrated to the rune near Dusty Divot.
• October 21, 2018: the island has returned to its starting point, causing a giant crack in the sky.
• October 24, 2018: The crack in the sky is activated and the Floating Island explodes. Instead of the island, several chunks now float above the remains of the lake, three large and four small.
• November 04, 2018: the cube that previously held the island in the air explodes and the chunks fall down onto Leaky Lake, where they form several small islands. The floating island now definitively no longer exists as such.
• September 03, 2019: The Floating Island has been brought back into the game and is once again slowly moving across the map.

BATTLE ROYALE

In Fortnite Battle Royale, you’ll jump off the battle bus above the island and fight until it’s just you left. You can also team up with friends or other players and take on the opposing teams. Make use of the materials wood, stone and metal to construct helpful buildings.

In Fortnite Battle Royale you can always look forward to new content, including new items, weapons, vehicles, custom modes, special events and “- Season s”. Each new – Season changes the island with its own theme. For example, it has already been taken over by secret agents and caught in a flood.
