Siege , also known as Canyon Siege , is a Hostage Scenario map featured in  Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive . Siege was one of the first maps ever developed for Counter-Strike , but fell into obscurity after the first part. It wasn’t until Operation Bravo that Siege was reinstated into the official map canon and re-released for Global Offensive .

Counter Strike
Siege was probably – after Mansion – the second CS map developed during the Counter-Strike beta phase. Its original version still clearly shows the origin of Counter-Strike as a modification of Half-Life , since it uses the same desert textures as Half-Life and its container can be seen with the symbol of Black Mesa .
During the beta phase, Siege went through several setting changes. If the card was only played in the morning, it was then placed on a night-time scenario. Ultimately, this was changed back to ‘Day’.
Global Offensive
The map was submitted to the Steam Workshop by 3Dnj and El Moroes on February 08, 2013 and was part of Operation Bravo from September 19, 2013 to January 20, 2014 , which restored it to the official canon.
