The map was submitted to the Steam Workshop by Oskmos on September 3rd, 2013 and was part of Operation Breakout from July 1st to October 2nd, 2014 . As a result, it was temporarily included in the official CS map canon. Set in a Swedish location, Insertion features a large open space and uses a modified version of the hostage scenario mode.
Construction
Insertion not only plays on a very large, heavily fogged map, but also partially changes the way the hostage scenario is played. Both teams first start in a separate room with several labeled fields. By entering one of the fields, players can choose where on the map they will spawn. The terrorists can spawn at the barn (1) or the main house (2), the counter-terrorist unit at one of four points on the map edges (AD). Surrounding the map’s main house are several small buildings flanked by slopes to the left and right, which house the hostage. In the upper area of the map there is a body of water, in the lower area larger fields. The heavy fog on the map and the many corners
