Chateau or Castle is a bomb scenario map from Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, and Counter-Strike: Source. The map represents a castle and therefore includes numerous possibilities to hide in the various corridors and rooms of the building. The bomb locations are both in a courtyard of the castle and in a garden.
Layout
Chateau takes place in a castle surrounded by a moat. The hatchery of the anti-terrorist unit is located in the backyard of the castle, while the terrorists have to gain access to the castle through the moat system.
Development
Counterstrike
The original version of Chateau was developed by Chris “MacMan” Ashton and Ido Magal and released with beta version 1.4.
Condition Zero
For the version of the map included in Condition Zero, virtually only a few visual upgrades were made to the map and no gameplay aspects were changed.
Trivia
The description of the scenario in Counter-Strike, Condition Zero and Source states that the owner of Chateau is the same Lord William who owned Cobblestone.
