Vacant is a small multiplayer map from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, where it only appeared with the Resurgance DLC.

Description

Vacant is a small map set in an abandoned Russian office building. In the main building there are many different office items, obstacles and randomly distributed rubble. Connected to the main building is a warehouse, which in turn connects back to the office. Outside you can find several destroyed vehicles, abandoned shipping containers and a large oil tank. On Vacant you can play in many different ways. Since the map is small and mostly played indoors, many people rely on fighting in close quarters. The outdoor area is usually just for flanking, but there are also those who prefer the long distance. At every corner on the map you can catch a quick glimpse of the city.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

• On the side of some of the green containers you can see the face of Captain Price, who is smoking a pipe. Underneath it is written in big letters “OSCAR MIKE’S TRANSPORT COMPANY – WE ARE ALWAYS ON THE RUN”.
• The gate that separates the back office (spawn point of the Spetznas) from the hallway has been removed in the Blast Command game mode. This makes it the only map in Modern Warfare 2 that has a piece on the map that is not present in every game mode.
• The map is much brighter than before.
• In Call of Duty 4, outside the map, if you looked behind the containers, there were still Russian apartment buildings and similar housing complexes, but in
  Modern Warfare 2 these have been replaced by the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
• If you fly far enough out of the map in spectator mode, you can see the image of Prypyat in Ukraine, which already suggests that this is a nuclear scenario. You can also find the building you left in the
  in the mission Good camouflaged, before entering the hotel.
• In the small garage outside hangs the same calendar with the
  Girl in a Bathing Suit, which you can also find on Carnival.
• Just like in the hair salon on Favela, you can also knife or shoot the mirrors in the bathroom on Vacant, whereupon you will take damage yourself if you stand too close to them.

Call of Duty
