Stadium is a multiplayer map from the First Strike DLC in Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Overview
Stadium is an urban, medium sized map. It is set at and partly in a hockey stadium and the buildings that stand nearby.
The map is very tight in some places and allows for house fighting, however there are also wide areas. These include the stadium itself, the fountain outside and the area behind the buildings. The most hotly contested areas here are by far the fountain, the scaffolding and the stadium. Also popular for camping is the small gift store.
The developers originally wanted to see only close fights in the map, but nevertheless it is designed to fight at medium and long distances as well.
Info
- The letters on the stadium resemble the old CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) logo.
- The stadium is the home of the fictional team “New York Atoms”.
- Stadium is a remake of the omitted map “Munich”.
- When you throw a tactical grenade on the field hockey field, the scoreboard makes a sound as if you scored a goal. This also happens when you shoot at the scoreboard or it gets hit by a grenade.
- The whole stadium has simple folding chairs for spectator seating, with benches only where you enter the main entrance.
- The postcard racks in the gift store spin faster and faster with each shot.
- Throughout the map, you can see a newspaper called “File” that contains an article called “The Year in Photos.” If you look very closely, you can see Workuta, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.
- In the buildings, you can spot many posters commemorating the 1972 presidential election.
- The puck, which is in the middle of the field, can be shot into the goal, but then the goal sound does not come.
- The fictional ice stadium is called “Chance Stadium” and is located in New York.
Call of Duty
The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
