Skidrow is a medium-sized multiplayer map in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Description
In this map there are many alleys that form nodes, but also large streets where the fight is more on the openness and distance. A large apartment building in the center serves as the main scene of most of the fighting, both downstairs and on the second floor.
Parts of the outer structures give glimpses of the apartment building, and you can shoot enemies inside from the outside. It’s best to attack with assault rifles on this map, because although you’ll be facing each other at close range inside, you can sometimes get into a firefight from a certain distance outside.
Still, there are enough tight spots to choose a submachine gun as well. Snipers have much fewer options than on large maps like Derail.
Info
- In some of the stores a game console is advertised with the name “Gamestation 5”, the same console that can be found unpacked on Estate.
- On the walls there are red numbers and arrows along with numerous cameras, indicating that the map could be some sort of training ground. The red numbers and arrows could also indicate a demolition site. C4 placed on the walls supports this.
- The bookshelves in the center of the map were copied one-to-one from the map terminal.
- The background of the map is the same as in Crossfire.
- All buildings outside the map are solid and you can stand on them.
- The fire hydrants can kill players if they blow up and you are unfortunate enough to stand over them.
- The chain-link fence at the Rangers’ spawn point has an invisible wall at the top. Grenades bounce off it and grenade launchers detonate immediately upon impact.
- At the parking lot is a table with a laptop, next to it is a throwing knife stuck in the wood.
- On the whole map you can see advertising posters for movies, among others also the often appearing “Porter Justice”.
- Looking at the game files, the map was originally supposed to be called “Nightshift”.
Call of Duty
The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
