Kowloon is a multiplayer map from the First Strike DLC in Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Overview
The map is set in the city of Kowloon City, Hong Kong. There are two ziplines that can be used to get from point B to A and C quickly, but the player can’t use weapons and is at the mercy of enemy fire while sliding.
Kowloon is suitable for any kind of fighting thanks to its tall buildings and small sneaky paths. One should be wary of the zipline, however, as in a 12-player game mode no one can finish sliding without at least being spotted, if not shot down.
You should be aware that there is more than one entrance in every building in Kowloon, which means you always have to keep an eye on all openings to make sure no one else can get in. There are small sniper nests and rooftops on the map, from which you can easily take out the enemies with a sniper rifle.
Info
- The map is set in the formerly walled city of Kowloon.
- It is the only multiplayer map in Call of Duty: Black Ops where it rains.
- When you fly the gunship, the rain appears on the windshield.
- Kowloon is the first and so far only multiplayer map that has ever included a zipline.
- You can find a chair that looks exactly like the chair Mason is being held captive in.
- There are monkeys in cages that look exactly like the monkeys from the Rebirth mission. Only the monkeys on Kowloon are protected from the player by bulletproof glass.
- If you destroy the TVs, the music that you can hear during the game stops playing.
- There are bottles all over the map with Treyarch written on them.
- The upper part of the neon sign forms a colorful “HONG KONG”.
- If the player has a Deathbringer, Widowmaker or Valkyre missiles equipped and uses the zipline, he loses his equipment.
- If you kill an enemy using the zipline with a tomahawk or a blade from the ballistic mess, it spawns and the blade or axe are then part of the character’s texture, meaning he wears the item on his body for the rest of the game.
- Kowloon and Hanoi are the only maps in Call of Duty: Black Ops where you fight at night.
Call of Duty
The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
