Maps Call of Duty - Grid
A look at Grid

overview

Grid consists of some houses, hangars and power generators on a snowy surface. At the end there is a huge grid, hence the name of the map (grid). This map aims to show a communications antenna very similar to the Duga-1 near Chernobyl. On the east side of the map there is a huge snowy area with grass and trees that is ideal for sniping, especially when using Ghost.

There are two ventilation shafts where you can sneak a remote cargo through unnoticed, one is by the trees near the snowy landscape in the east and one is in the building with the small balcony, near the back exit.

Most of the battles take place in the middle of the map by the truck and in the two buildings, especially in game modes where you have to conquer and defend, since two targets are usually in the buildings. The Black Ops spawn point is perfect for requesting shootdowns, since you’re much more hidden and there’s not as much fighting in the corners.

In other game modes, such as team deathmatch, this map is especially known for not having wild fights, but instead having everyone proceed tactically, which you can also see from the two buildings. Capture the Flag games usually end because of timeouts, since at least one of the flags is in the open field and there is almost no way to get the piece with tactics.

There are trees in the east of the map and hangars in the west. Outside the map you can still see trees for many kilometers, which means that the map is set in a rural area. East of the map, you can see a large mountainous landscape in the background.

Info

  • Just like on the Cracked and Radiation , there is a clock that shows the player’s exact local time. It hangs in the room in front of the stairs, which looks a bit like a science lab.
  • The statue standing in the middle of the field says “Prypyat” in Cyrillic, which is another proof that the map is set in the Ukrainian city.
  • There are fire extinguishers hanging in the buildings, which you can get off the wall with one shot and detonate with another. The explosion is so powerful that it can injure or even kill anyone in the immediate vicinity. In the Workuta mission from the single player campaign, there are also fire extinguishers that you can use to kill enemies and save ammo.
  • A glitch that can only happen on this map makes gunfire, the roar of planes, explosions, etc. last forever until the round is over.
  • There is a shield on the map, which can also be found in the real Prypyat.
  • On the Wii version, the map plays much later, as it is already much darker.
  • You can jump on the truck in the middle of the map.

Call of Duty

The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
