Getaway is a multiplayer map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 that can only be played in the Face Off game mode.
The map is set at a beach house in Brazil. Near the house there is a pool that is filled with water. If you go into the water and dive, your vision immediately becomes blurry, if you stay underwater too long, you’ll be damaged and you can even die.
Getaway provides all the floors of the house as the setting, along with a front garden, a terrace and a small trail. The middle area inside is almost exclusively limited to close combat, while outside you sometimes get involved in fights from a medium distance. Submachine guns and shotguns work best.
Info
- In the garage there are golden weapons, including an AK-47, PM-9, SPAS-12, P90 and an L118A without a scope.
- The beach balls on the beach can not swim.
- In one room in the house, a teddy bear sleeps in the bed.
- Pre-sale snapshots, videos and even trailers on Call of Duty ELITE describe that on this map the SAS fights against the Inner Circle, while it is the Delta Force against the Speznas.
- Outside the map there is a boat named “S.S. Ackrich”. This is a reference to Steve Ackrich, a developer at Infinity Ward.
- Although the map is set in Brazil, the car in the garage has a California license plate.
- You can shoot through the aquarium, so players on the other side will take damage, but strangely enough the glass can’t break.
- The same is true for many other things, such as windows.
- The balls on the pool table move when you shoot at them, and can also fall into the corners.
- While many glass objects don’t break, the glass tables on this map are different and can even inflict damage when broken, like the left mirror in the hair salon on the map Favela. If you play Hardcore and break three of these tables, it’s enough to kill you.
- If you are killed by these glass tables, you will still be told that you were killed by an exploding car.
- On a table on the veranda near the pool there are three packets of cocaine. If you shoot them, they explode into white dust.
Call of Duty
The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
