Downturn is a multiplayer map in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. It is a large map set on Wall Street in New York City and based on the Black Tuesday mission. The Delta Force fights against the Spetznas.
Description
Downturn is a large map where the two spawn points are located at opposite points on the map. There are many roads, however much of the surface is destroyed and you can see the subway subway. The tunnels underground provide a lot of protection, but in some places you are still vulnerable to enemy shootdowns. There are many buildings that you can enter and climb on, however many walls are torn down and there is a lot of rubble on the ground.
Survival Combat
In Survival Combat, Downturn has a difficulty level of 4, which means “Insane.” Players start with the M16A4 with red dot sights, the Five-Seven, and 250 armor, but no frag grenades, flashbangs, or resurrection. You start outside, to the east of the map. Enemies come in the form of bomb squads, chemical weapons, claymore experts, attack helicopters, and armored juggernauts.
The armory is located south in a building of the starting point, the equipment chamber is located in the northwest of the map and the air support crates are located on the southwest side by the main building.
Info
- If you shoot a fire extinguisher, a jet of water comes out, but it no longer harms the player, unlike in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
- One of the buildings is a copy of the hotel from the Scorched Earth mission.
- On the west side of the map, you can hear the sirens from the Exodus mission.
- On the east side at the end of the road you can see a destroyed Burger Town, however you can’t reach it because it’s outside the map.
- At the southeast end of the map, there is a destroyed building, but inside there are two healthy couches, two partially functioning televisions, and a fully functioning computer, although the building is completely broken.
- Gunshots can be heard in one building, although there is no one around.
- Ironically, there is a fire truck on fire.
- Although the entrances to the subway look quite modern, there is an entrance on Wall Street that dates back to the 1980s. However, it is locked and cannot be entered.
- In the background you can see the Freedom Tower.
- There are no streetlights in the Wii version.
Call of Duty
The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
