Crossfire is a multiplayer map from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare that was originally also supposed to appear in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but was cut out before the game’s release.
Description
Crossfire has probably the most open buildings and the best hiding places imaginable. Campers and snipers favor this map. At each end of the long street are two-story buildings from which snipers often fight. Intense hand-to-hand combat also often takes place in the small buildings that line the side of the main road. Crossfire is great for domination or hardcore game modes because there are many hiding places. Classes with assault rifles or sniper rifles are probably the most commonly seen. Shotguns are also an excellent choice, because melees happen more often than you might think.
Info
- In one of the houses, there is a teddy bear lying on the mattress.
- There are several posters advertising a supermarket, but there is a spelling mistake on them. One reads clearly “Subermarkt”.
- In the building diagonally across to the left of the Marines’ spawn point, there is a table that has been broken in half and knocked over. If you jump on it, there’s a chance you’ll get stuck.
- In the southwest corner there is a fence that acts as a boundary for the map. Behind it you can see parts of the map bog.
- Oddly enough, the road signs near the OpFor spawn point are in French.
- Even stranger, the cars on the streets have Russian license plates.
Call of Duty
The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
