Arcades

Arcades is a multiplayer map from Call of Modern Warfare 3, set in a shopping mall in Berlin, Germany. The map takes place mostly in close combat in the bombed hall. The factions are the SAS against the Speznas.

Description

Arcades is a medium sized map and teams spawn on the street in front of the mall and the loading area behind it. The most fighting is in the center itself and by the hotel with the garden. The mall has a roof that is almost all glass, so you’re not safe from air support there. There are two floors, in each of them you can see quite far, plus from the second floor you can see the courtyard outside. The courtyard separates the shopping center from the hotel and is filled with debris, a crashed helicopter and garbage. You can climb on the helicopter and use it as cover. The hotel consists of two rooms, the bar and the reception area. The reception area is missing a wall due to an explosion, which means the room is pretty much open in every direction. The bar has huge glass windows, so it’s not a safe place either.

Survival Battle

In survival combat, Arcades has been dubbed with a difficulty of Insane. Players start with an M16A4 with red dot sights, the Five-Seven and 250 armor, but lack resurrection, frag or stun grenades. You fight against bomber , chemical weapons agents, claymore experts, helicopters and reinforced juggernauts.

The armory is located on the second floor of the mall by the perfumery, the equipment depot is by the SAS spawn point, and the air support depot can be found behind the mall by the loading docks. A good place to defend is to stand behind the counter at Burger Town, but attack dogs and juggernauts can jump over the counter, making it less worth the risk.

Info

  • In the shopping center you can find a crashed Mi-24 Hind, which crashed with the rear rotor into the fountain.
  • In the left side of the kitchen of Burger Town you can find a giant teddy bear.
  • The map is quite similar to Terminal from : Modern Warfare 2. Both have a Burger Town, take place in civilian locations that have been torn apart by war, and have a similar layout.
  • It’s odd that it’s not the German military fighting in the place of the SAS. In the campaign, the German military units fought when it came to defending Berlin.
  • The phones in Burger Town say “Cod 4,” a reference to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
  • If you use the spectator mode, you can find a large teddy bear in one of the buildings, holding two golden Desert Eagles and printed with a red star.
  • If you play Infected, you will die immediately if you try to jump onto the truck in the parking area or the flower bed by the big staircase. This is how the developers wanted to prevent players from camping in these places.
  • In the game files, the map is called “The Arcade”, so the developers wanted to translate “The Arcade”. This is grammatically incorrect.
  • In the cosemtics store, there is a door with an exit sign hanging above it. However, behind this door is an office.
  • On the map Plaza from Call of Duty: Black Ops II there are pictures of arcades.

Call of Duty

The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the first part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. Since the first Call of Duty, World at     War, which was developed exclusively by Treyarch, each part also included cooperative challenges that you could play together with friends. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II. Using the divisions, you’ll be able to choose between the deadly sniper and the brute armored division and support your comrades in battle. In addition, World War II also has a zombie mode “Nazi Zombies”, as in its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops. Face the monsters of the Third Reich and win glory and honor.
