Maps Call of Duty - Afghan
Afghan

Afghan is a large multiplayer map from : Modern Warfare 2, with combat options ranging from the farthest distance to up close.

Description

Afghan is set at an accessible AC-130 crash site in the desert of Afghanistan. To the east and west are cliffs and bunkers that are often used by snipers. There is a cave where dramatic close-quarters fighting often takes place, plus the giant entrance is good for keeping an eye on the crash site. On the other side, there is a path that leads from the bunkers along behind the mountain up to a cliff. It’s good if you want to flank, but for that you can also go through the bunker and then past the fields.

Thanks to the generally round layout of the map, you can reach every location via at least two paths, so it’s perfect for team deathmatch. Afghan is quite popular with snipers because you can see far everywhere, plus there are areas in many places that provide camouflage enough. Many people use thermal sights because the white areas offer a great contrast to the desert brown. For spotting players on the cliffs, it’s less useful because the sky is also shown in white.

Afghan includes two “secret” vantage points, both looking down on the crashed AC-130. One is below the cliff, where players must carefully slide off the edge and land in bushes next to trees. Another is a small ledge above the cave entrance. To do this, you have to climb onto the wing of the crashed plane and jump. To make the jump, you need 100% mobility, otherwise you will fall to your death without command Pro.

Sometimes sandstorms spontaneously appear and prevent you from having a clear view, especially if you use a thermal visor. Without the sandstorms, you have a perfect view. It is possible to climb on the vehicles and lie down in the hole in the roof. This way you are almost never seen and have good cover in firefights. This is mainly exploited by players who want to defend a flag.

Info

  • On the solid bridge by the cliff there is an inlet in the wall where a teddy bear lies on the ground. There you can discover traces of a door leading into the nuclear shelter.
  • Near the cave and on the massive steel doors in the cave is the Infinity Ward logo.
  • If you stand by the building in the northeasternmost corner of the map and don’t move, you can hear the barking of dogs.
  • Behind the OpFor spawn point in the radioactive zone, you can see a city, but it consists merely of a mosque and four stone houses.
  • If you are in the middle area of the AC-130 and look at the ceiling, you can see some characters, some of which form the word HELP.
  • At one of the ends of the map, a vehicle is blocking the road, in front of which there is obviously an invisible barrier. If you throw a throwing knife at it, it gets stuck in the air.
  • Due to a bug, it is possible to enter the nuclear area in public and private games and stay there until you leave the nuclear area.

Call of Duty

The Call of Duty series has existed since 2003 and in addition to various spin-offs, including for the handheld systems Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, 14 major titles of the series have now been released. Ever since the part of the series, great emphasis has been placed on the online multiplayer mode in addition to the single-player campaign, which is also reflected in the development of the shooter series. The latest installment, Call of Duty: World War II, also features an extended multiplayer mode that puts you and your friends in the combat zones and famous battles of World War II.
