LoL: Uzi was physically at the end with 23

Chinese Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hao is considered one of the best players of all time in , but never became world champion. At the age of 23, he had to end his career in 2020: Uzi was physically at the end after 8 years with more than 12 hours of LoL a day, suffered from diabetes, his shoulder was broken. In 2022, however, he wants to try again. A new team is formed in China, Uzi appears on the botlane.

Who is Uzi?

  • Uzi started his career in 2012 at “”. At that time he was 15 and came straight from solo cue. Although he had many successes in China and always built team around him to become world champion, he never managed to win the Worlds. In 2018 at the peak of his career he won everything else with Royal Never Give Up – but was eliminated from the Worlds against G2 in the quarterfinals.
  • Uzi is considered one of the mechanically best LoL players of all time. He is just incredibly fast with mouse and keyboard. He is the botlaner that all other ADCs have to measure up to.
  • In 2020, however, his lifestyle as a LoL machine caught up with him. At 23, doctors certified he had the arms of a 50-year-old. He also suffered from diabetes. Life as a LoL pro in China is considered extremely hard and unforgiving. Uzi ended his career as a professional player in June 2020. He was only 23 years old at the time.

Bilibi wants to know in China 2022

In this team he comes back now: 2022 will apparently be the “year of old stars in new team” in LoL. Teams are emerging in every region right now, taking proven stars to rebuild:

This is what the Bilibi Gaming 2022 squad looks like:

  • Uzi will compete in the botlane
  • Strong supporter Crisp, world champion 2019 with FunPLus Phoenix, will be his partner
  • The team is completed by Breathe, Weiwei and FoFo.

This is what is special about the situation of Uzi: At Bilibi-Gaming, they seem to be planning around Uzi. Because they have provided the 24-year-old veteran from the beginning with “Doggo” (18), a strong substitute and potential successor.

The 18-year-old Taiwanese is considered a great talent in LoL.

Apparently, the plan is for Doggo to get some action time so that Uzi can take it easy. Because a regular 24/7 LoL regime is apparently not to be expected of the health-impaired veteran.

It will be exciting to see if Uzi can match his old-time class in 2022 and finally get that world title he wants so badly.

The story certainly sounds like a plot for a sports movie. The question is whether it will be a tragedy or have a happy ending.

Uzi had to end his career because he was physically broken. Another great and still relatively young LoL player suffered from obsessive-compulsive disorder. He could only play LoL when his PC was set up exactly the way he wanted it:
