LoL player accused of being scripter – Incriminating video shows questionable gameplay scenes

What happened? In gaming, “cheater” cries get loud quickly. For example, one of the best streamers is accused of being a cheater. Now videos of a LoL player allegedly cheating in the currently running Prime Super Cup surfaced. This is a tournament hosted by the Prime League. All teams from Division 1 and 2 have the chance to take part in the tournament, and a few teams from Division 3 are also allowed to participate. The tournament serves as a chance for players to measure themselves against the big names of League of Legends e-sports and to present themselves.

These are the accusations: Currently, however, there is said to be an unpleasant incident, because a player is accused of scripting. In the League of Legends scene, scripting is the term for cheating. The accusation comes from the high-ranking LoL player Lilium. He posted a video on Twitter in which the midlaner Gap is accused of being a scripter.

According to Lilium, Gap uses a script to dodge skillshots. In the approximately 6-minute video, he shows as evidence several game scenes from competitive matches of the player, in which he displays very suspicious movement. To make the situation visible to untrained eyes, the key scenes are explained in the video description.

There is more to it than that: Scripted alone is not the only problem the situation presents. The team the player plays for (404 Multigaming e.V.) has already played four games in the preliminary round of the Prime Super Cup and qualified for a final. So, if the accusations are true, it could lead to the team being disqualified.

LoL player accused of being a scripter – reactions are not long in coming

These are the reactions: After the clip was shared many times on Twitter, outrage spread in the community. In the comments under the tweet, the player’s team – 404 Multigaming e.V. – and the Prime League have also spoken out.

  • 404 Multigaming e.V. writes: “We take these allegations very seriously and are currently investigating the whole thing.
  • Prime League writes: “Our tournament admins are aware of the situation and are taking care of it.”

This happens now: Exactly what the next steps will be remains to be seen. 404 Multigaming e.V., the Prime League and the accused player himself have not yet responded to inquiries. If the accusations are true, the community can only hope that the official side will act faster than in the case of Destiny 2, where cheaters destroyed a raid and Bungie remained inactive.
