The famous organization TSM had ideas to leave the LCS. But the League-of-Legends team with its current performance could rather only find a foothold in the Prime League. Comment.
The TSM organization has considered turning its back on the American League of Legends (LCS) and securing a slot in the European LoL League (LEC). An open slot became vacant at short notice due to the withdrawal of Misfits Gaming. However, it is highly doubtful whether TSM could prove itself in the LEC at all.
Currently, things are going anything but so well for TSM in the LCS. Already in the Spring Split 2022 the team had to admit defeat on a humiliating second last place and now in the Summer Split it doesn’t look any better. The group stage is still running, but even there TSM seems to collect more defeats and less victories. Even the roster is changed more often than others change their underwear, which leads to inconsistent performances.
Johnny: Player-wise, TSM fits more in the Prime League than the LEC.
For LoL expert Jona “Johnny” Schmitt, it is therefore clear: “Purely in terms of gameplay, TSM fits more in the Prime League than in the LEC.” However, the former caster and current full-time streamer means this with a wink. But this assessment is not that far off the mark.
With conceivably poor sporting conditions and also problems in the organization, the team eventually wanted to move to the LEC. Meanwhile, the European team G2 Esports dominated the group stage of MSI 2022 and did not lose a match against the American team Evil Geniuses, who are currently leading the summer split of the LCS.
In addition to the sporting misery, there is also a huge crisis in the management. In July, TSM CEO Andy Dinh was fined $75,000 by Riot Games for toxic behavior. Dinh is also on probation for harassing behavior towards TSM employees. Furthermore, TSM is currently involved in a crypto-scam. In the process, the organization’s YouTube channel was hacked and the hacker attempted to grab cryptocurrency from viewers during a stream. Rosy prospects look different.
Latest for Dexerto: Sources say TSM recently considered selling their LCS slot among plans to streamline their esports division.
However, the rest of the teams in the LEC also compare favorably to TSM. With the current ranking of TSM in the LCS and the preferred collecting of defeats, it would just be enough statistically for the second last place in the European league.
If TSM were to compete in the Prime League, on the other hand, the team would also have to contend with some of the greats of the German LoL scene. The American organization might not even be able to do anything against the community and fans of Eintracht Spandau. In the end, TSM will probably have to admit defeat to them as well and sing the Eintracht Spandau anthem loudly as punishment.
