League of Legends Teams – Vici Gaming

Vici

What reminds us a bit of the Volkswagen icon is the stick-crushing Club Vichi Gaming. Because in 2012 the team dared the unspeakable, without any experience in competitive gameplay, the team simply founded their esport club. Because the players were well-known from the Chinese Dota League, it was only the management that was missing. One of the players was Sydm, who previously made the battlefields unsafe with TyLoo and then switched to Vici Gaming without further ado. Another well-known figure is CTY, probably the most notorious midlaner – in a relevant 1v1 tournament, he beat all the well-known midlaners (Sylar, Hao and also Ferrari_430) from the FF and thus crowned himself the new number 1.

Unfortunately, there were too many player changes and irregularities, so from 2015 the team sank into insignificance without a win in a Major or Premier tournament. The memories of that glorious second place in the TI4 were fading and the team knew it was time to pull themselves together. This year there was light again at the end of the tunnel when they finished second at ESL Katowice after losing to powerhouse Virtus.pro. I also see the perspective for the TI8 as promising, with players like Fenrir and LaNm they could soon startle the conventional sizes. They got the #6 place in the ProCircuit and thus deservedly been able to organize a direct draw for the International. Here are the facts:

Biggest success so far:  Second in The International 4, Winner of The Summit 2 (2014), Second in ESL One Katowice 2018

Team Roster:

  • Carry: Paparazi
  • Mid: Ori
  • Offlane: eLeVeN
  • Roamer/Support: Lanm
  • Hard Support: Fenrir (Captain)

explained – LoL for Dummies

The name of probably the most influential eSports title of the last few years – “League of Legends” – has been heard quickly; but what exactly it is all about is rather difficult to grasp, especially for the layman. Therefore, this complex game is broken down here to simple basic elements, understandable for everyone.

League of Legends or “LoL” is a video game published by and belongs to the genre (game category) “MOBA”. MOBA is a sub-genre of strategy games and stands for “Multiplayer Online Battle Arena” – so it is an online team game that is played on a closed map that is always the same.

On this map, usually the so-called “Summoner’s Rift”, the teams compete in a five-against-five match with the goal of destroying the enemy base, the winner being the team that destroys the enemy’s main building, the “Nexus”. This usually takes between 25 and 35 minutes, but can also take an hour.

Each player controls one of over 140 available champions. These are selected before the start of each game and matched with the team. Each of these champions has its own skillset – i.e. abilities – and thus differs fundamentally from the others. Therefore, on the one hand it is important to perfect these champions as much as possible, but at the same time to know the skills of all champions in order to be able to compete effectively against them. This is also a long-term task, since new champions are added to the game all the time.
