Why does it have so few skins?
League of Legends is full of beautiful women. Ahri, Lux, Zeri, they are all cute and adorable. On the other hand, we also have some pretty nasty looking champions like Kog’Maw, Cho’Gath and Gragas. But how does Kalista fit into all of this?
Kalista’s base skin is already pretty cool, a ghost woman with a bunch of spears to pierce her enemies with. When she pulls the spears out of an enemy, she deals a lot of damage and usually kills her opponents. She is a cool champion for the bot lane, however, she also kind of relies on a good support. With her Ultimate, she throws her ally in a direction she sees fit. It’s a great attacking tool, but also very risky if you don’t know how to use it.
3rd SKT T1 Kalista
The first stop on our journey takes us back to 2015 – can you believe that was over 6 years ago? At that point, Esports was nothing more than an obscure pastime for the general public. Playing video games and making money from it? Please, that’s nothing more than a pipe dream and will only ruin a child’s health! It’s really impossible anyway!
And yet here we sit in the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin. Thousands of spectators cheer as one of the most dominant teams of the year, SKT T1, takes on their bitter rivals, the Koo Tigers. Bang vs PraY, Wolf vs GorillA and Marin vs Smeb. A legendary rivalry. Judging by the Skins’ name, you probably know who won the game, right? The 2015 world champions were none other than SKT T1, who won their second trophy. To this day, they are the only team to win the Summoner’s Cup twice!
A single tear escapes our eyes as we watch these young, awkward guys lift a trophy twice their size. Little did they know that in a few years they would be competing against each other again in one of the most famous games of all time….
2015 was the year when Kalista really started to shine, it seems. Not only did she get a skin from Worlds 2015, but she even got a Championship skin that celebrated the World Championship in Europe. Crazy… Now she’s one of the least played champions. Sad. But it’s time to move on. Returning to the heyday of SKT T1 has been fun, but we need to explore more Kalista skins! | © Riot Games
But we’re not here to write a Kalista champion guide, we have enough of those already – like this very cool Renata Glasc guide. No, today we’re getting back into our dimensional hopping machine to take a look at the best skins the Spear of Vengeance – what an epic name – has to offer. One thing we should mention is that unfortunately Kalista doesn’t have too many skins…. We should hit the streets and demand more skins from Riot, because Kalista deserves some love! Who’s coming with me? Down with the establishment! But enough of that, time to move on and zoom into the different universes Kalista appears in!
Champion skin
Champion skin (or skin for short) refers to the color scheme or appearance of a champion. Most champion skins can be purchased in the Riot Shop with Riot Points, while others are/were only available for special events/promotions. However, some selected chroma skins (color-changed skins)can be purchased at special events for Blue Essence. Some champion skins bring new particles for visual effects, quotes and sound effects. Each skin has its own splashart, which is displayed in the champion selection and loading screen. Since patch 7.16, the custom champion image is also matched to the skin in the game itself.
What is actually… “League of Legends”?
“League of Legends is one of the most successful e-sports titles in the world. But what is it actually about? And what makes the game so popular? An explanation for beginners.
What is League of Legends (“LoL”) about?
In a classic game of “League of Legends,” two teams each have five characters called champions, each with individual characteristics. The main goal of each team is to destroy the opponent’s Nexus (a main building). Before this can be attacked, however, several defenses must be torn down on at least one of the three central level routes (lanes). Similar to “Dota 2”, the heroes receive continuous support on their campaign from AI-controlled units called minions. They storm the battlefield at regular intervals and independently attack enemies or enemy buildings – but only on the three main paths of the map. Those who roam around in the surrounding jungle will have to do without minion help. As usual in the MOBA genre, the champions reach higher levels by collecting experience points. In the course of the match, they learn numerous new abilities. Provided they have enough gold, the player can also strengthen himself with new equipment. Each of the 141 hero characters that the player can currently choose from is assigned to one of six classes. Warriors can deal out a lot of damage, tanks take a lot of punishment, mages have powerful special abilities, and supporters can, among other things, replenish the mana energy of allies or heal their comrades-in-arms.
