It’s “in the house” again: As the current League of Legends event, Galaxies 2020 continues until April 27 and presents all players with a big choice.
Yes, it’s a bit like good vs. evil – with the terms Cosmic vs. Dark and Duty vs. Ambition, respectively. That’s because in League of Legends’ Galaxies 2020 event, every player gets to pick aside. In the end, on April 27, it will then be revealed what most have chosen, ending the story behind the current LoL special. Meanwhile, an old game mode brings new fun, there are two cool Lux skins and missions with various rewards.
The story of Galaxies 2020
We have the galaxy in our hands, that’s how you could sum up the event. In Galaxies 2020, each player can decide whether to stand behind “Duty” or “Ambition”. Tokens are collected for this in various missions, but Lux in particular plays a decisive role here.
Lux Cosmic Skins
LoL players are familiar with the MOBA’s versatile hero and have long appreciated her strengths. For Galaxies 2020, two new skins have been created for Lux, which will decide the fate of the galaxy. Will the community choose the light or the dark, Duty or Ambition?
Cosmic Lux
Those who want to start the event must first choose between the two sides, and that also means choosing between Cosmic and Dark Cosmic Lux. The former stands for the supposedly good side: for light, justice and a sense of duty.
Dark Cosmic Lux
The rather wilder, unbridled Dark Cosmic Lux in purple may have its charms, though. It represents power, playful malevolence, and ambition. Just what will this dark side do to the galaxy if she wins? Maybe it’s worth finding out…
Galaxies 2020 Missions
Those who have chosen a side of the Galaxies 2020 event can complete various missions, unlock tokens and various rewards. Two missions are available at the beginning of the event, with more unlocked later.
The first mission is to win a match or play three matches – this unlocks the tokens. For the second mission, 30 matchmade games must be completed. For that, you get 60 tokens and a Galaxies Orb. The latter contains a random skin shard and can, with a 4 percent chance, contain a Galaxies Grab Bag – which cannot be purchased with tokens.
Event Pass
Those who wish to purchase the Event Pass for Galaxies 2020 will receive four Galaxies Orbs and 200 Tokens. It also unlocks exclusive missions where additional tokens and rewards like prestige points (for prestige skins) await you. The pass costs 1650 RP (about 10 euros).

The motto is tokens, tokens, tokens! With them you can buy many great rewards in the Galaxies Shop:

“One for All” is back
Now it’s getting wild again. The game mode “One for All” is back: Each team decides on one champion each, which then all have to play in the team. Just an idea: what about two Lux teams, one for Cosmic and the other for Dark Cosmic Lux… The pure galaxies madness.
So go for it! Until April 27, every League of Legends player holds the galaxy in their own hands.
LoL’s April Fools event is also coming soon – an exciting time for the MOBA.
Champion skin
Champion skin (or skin for short) refers to the color scheme or appearance of a champion. Most champion skins can be purchased in the Riot Shop with Riot Points, while others are/were only available for special events/promotions. However, some selected chroma skins (color-changed skins)can be purchased at special events for Blue Essence. Some champion skins bring new particles for visual effects, quotes and sound effects. Each skin has its own splash art, which is displayed in the champion selection and loading screen. Since patch 7.16, the custom champion image is also matched to the skin in the game itself.
What is actually… “League of Legends”?
“League of Legends is one of the most successful esports titles in the world. But what is it actually about? And what makes the game so popular? An explanation for beginners.
What is League of Legends (“LoL”) about?
In a classic game of “League of Legends,” two teams each have five characters called champions, each with individual characteristics. The main goal of each team is to destroy the opponent’s Nexus (a main building). Before this can be attacked, however, several defenses must be torn down on at least one of the three central level routes (lanes). Similar to “Dota 2”, the heroes receive continuous support on their campaign from AI-controlled units called minions. They storm the battlefield at regular intervals and independently attack enemies or enemy buildings – but only on the three main paths of the map. Those who roam around in the surrounding jungle will have to do without minion help. As usual in the MOBA genre, the champions reach higher levels by collecting experience points. In the course of the match, they learn numerous new abilities. Provided they have enough gold, the player can also strengthen himself with new equipment. Each of the 141 hero characters that the player can currently choose from is assigned to one of six classes. Warriors can deal out a lot of damage, tanks take a lot of punishment, mages have powerful special abilities, and supporters can, among other things, replenish the mana energy of allies or heal their comrades-in-arms.
