The Lunar Revel event on the occasion of the Chinese New Year brings new skins, missions and more. We have compiled an overview of everything for you.
The Chinese New Year begins on Tuesday, 01.02.2022. This year is the Year of the Tiger. Why should this interest you? Well, maybe because basically positive open-mindedness towards other cultures is always a good character trait. Or also because there are cool skins in League for it.
We recently learned that League of Legends is owned by Chinese shareholders. So that means that Chinese New Year has some punch to it. Good for us! The Lunar Revel Event 2022 kicks off with LoL Patch 12.02.
Skins in Lunar Revel Event 2022
This year, on the occasion of the Chinese New Year, there is not only an expansion of a previous skin series – Riot is also launching a completely new series. But let’s start from the beginning: It has become almost a tradition that every year for the Lunar Event a few new Firecracker skins are added to the gear. For that, feel free to stop by here. Spoiler: Teemo is there!
Another skin series that we haven’t seen before and that already has the potential to be the best skin series of 2022 are the porcelain skins (porcelain potential, so to speak). Be careful or you’ll break them. Above in the cinematic you already get a taste of these noble curved lines. If they play half as smooth as they look, I think I’ll be drooling a bit on my keyboard.
Lunar Revel 2022: Changes to the event missions
In a blog post yesterday, Riot announced that they were rolling back the new additions to the Event Missions at the Debonair event. The whole thing didn’t work out as well as they thought it would. Instead of making the token gain more focused on the games themselves, the new mechanic rather slowed it down. Now, however, there are finally new missions to earn your event orbs.
The Token Bank missions can be repeated infinitely within the event. So it’s worth the grind. This event won’t change much for the time being, because the developers don’t really trust their system yet and the rollover mechanics are not fully developed yet.
Lunar Revel 2022: Token Bank Missions
Mission | Won | Lost |
Matchmade PvP Normal/Ranked | 10 tokens | 5 tokens |
Matchmade PvP ARAM | 6 tokens | 3 tokens |
ARURF | 6 tokens | 3 tokens |
Lunar Eevel 2022: Orb and Milestone Missions

Winning points in the Lunar Revel 2022 event
Did everything understand so far? Enough tables, time for League? Well, we’re not quite there yet, you still need a table. You’re probably wondering how you get points in the first place. Well, this follows a very simple dynamic: You just have to gamble. You get points for every minute you play, even more if you finish the game with a win. GG. Here are the numbers:
Game mode | Won | Lost |
Matchmade PvP Normal/Ranked | 6 points/min. | 4 points/min. |
Matchmade PvP ARAM | 6 points/min. | 4 points/min. |
ARURF | 6 points/min. | 4 points/min. |
Co-op vs. AI | 2 points/min. | 1 points/min. |
TFT Normal/Ranked | 3 points/min. (1st-4th place) | 2 points/min (5th-8th place) |
TFT Hyper Roll | 3 points/min. (1st-4th place) | 2 points/min (5th-8th place) |
TFT Double Up | 3 points/min. (1st-2nd place) | 2 points/min. (3rd-4th place) |
Okay, now you’re good to go. If you’re not sure what you’ll find in orbs and chests, here are the probabilities. Outside of the Lunar Revel Event 2022, however, Patch 12.02 has a lot more to offer. ARURF is coming back, for example. And if you want to get some cool skins with the Event Pass, you might want to keep this in mind.
Champion skin
Champion skin (or skin for short) refers to the color scheme or appearance of a champion. Most champion skins can be purchased in the Riot Shop with Riot Points, while others are/were only available for special events/promotions. However, some selected chroma skins (color-changed skins)can be purchased at special events for Blue Essence. Some champion skins bring new particles for visual effects, quotes and sound effects. Each skin has its own splashart, which is displayed in the champion selection and loading screen. Since patch 7.16, the custom champion image is also matched to the skin in the game itself.
What is actually… “League of Legends”?
“League of Legends is one of the most successful e-sports titles in the world. But what is it actually about? And what makes the game so popular? An explanation for beginners.
What is League of Legends (“LoL”) about?
In a classic game of “League of Legends,” two teams each have five characters called champions, each with individual characteristics. The main goal of each team is to destroy the opponent’s Nexus (a main building). Before this can be attacked, however, several defenses must be torn down on at least one of the three central level routes (lanes). Similar to “Dota 2”, the heroes receive continuous support on their campaign from AI-controlled units called minions. They storm the battlefield at regular intervals and independently attack enemies or enemy buildings – but only on the three main paths of the map. Those who roam around in the surrounding jungle will have to do without minion help. As usual in the MOBA genre, the champions reach higher levels by collecting experience points. In the course of the match, they learn numerous new abilities. Provided they have enough gold, the player can also strengthen himself with new equipment. Each of the 141 hero characters that the player can currently choose from is assigned to one of six classes. Warriors can deal out a lot of damage, tanks take a lot of punishment, mages have powerful special abilities, and supporters can, among other things, replenish the mana energy of allies or heal their comrades-in-arms.
