It’s that time again. A new patch is here and in LoL Patch 11.6 we get some buffs for Xin Zhao, as well as nerfs for healing. Of course, there are also new skins, as always. Today we take a look at the highlights of the new patch and what we can look forward to over the next 2 weeks.
LoL Patch 11.6: Akali and Xin Zhao Buffs
Akali was previously able to dominate in all phases of the game. Now, however, all that has subsided as her early game has been affected a lot after these changes. Now she is not as tanky as before, but scaled much better into late game. So watch out for Late Game Akali, because it’s not going to be fun anymore.
Xin also got a little mini-rework in patch 11.6, so he finally sees the light of Summoner’s Rift. Now you can play him as an AD brawler or, if you want something completely different, as an AP champion – and now Rabadan’s are cheaper too so what are we waiting for?
Will the changes in patch 11.6 make him one of the top junglers? We’ll have to wait for that, but hopefully he’ll at least be played again.
LoL Patch 11.6: Healing Items
Some items just gave way too much healing and sometimes it seemed like you just couldn’t kill the enemy even though you had a thousand AP or AD. That’s why Riot decided to refresh a few items to make everything a bit more balanced.
Immortal Shield Bow had 12% lifesteal before and will have only 10% from now on. But, that’s not all, because Lifeline will no longer give 15% additional lifesteal either. Instead, you will now get 13-55 AD.
Blade of the Ruined King is another item that Riot has taken a closer look at. The Lifesteal has been reduced from 12% to 10%, but the damage of Siphon in the late game is slightly higher.
LoL Patch 11.6: Skins
Also in this patch, as usual, we will get new skins. The theme this time? Battle Academia. Garen will join his sister in this alternate universe, along with Caitlyn, Wukong, Yone and Leona, who even gets her own prestige skin. Pretty fitting for one of the most constant support champions in the game.

Champion skin
Champion skin (or skin for short) refers to the color scheme or appearance of a champion. Most champion skins can be purchased in the Riot Shop with Riot Points, while others are/were only available for special events/promotions. However, some selected chroma skins (color-changed skins)can be purchased at special events for Blue Essence. Some champion skins bring new particles for visual effects, quotes, and sound effects. Each skin has its own splash art, which is displayed in the champion selection and loading screen. Since patch 7.16, the custom champion image is also matched to the skin in the game itself.
What is actually… “League of Legends”?
“League of Legends is one of the most successful esports titles in the world. But what is it actually about? And what makes the game so popular? An explanation for beginners.
What is League of Legends (“LoL”) about?
In a classic game of “League of Legends,” two teams each have five characters called champions, each with individual characteristics. The main goal of each team is to destroy the opponent’s Nexus (a main building). Before this can be attacked, however, several defenses must be torn down on at least one of the three central level routes (lanes). Similar to “Dota 2”, the heroes receive continuous support on their campaign from AI-controlled units called minions. They storm the battlefield at regular intervals and independently attack enemies or enemy buildings – but only on the three main paths of the map. Those who roam around in the surrounding jungle will have to do without minion help. As usual in the MOBA genre, the champions reach higher levels by collecting experience points. In the course of the match, they learn numerous new abilities. Provided they have enough gold, the player can also strengthen himself with new equipment. Each of the 141 hero characters that the player can currently choose from is assigned to one of six classes. Warriors can deal out a lot of damage, tanks take a lot of punishment, mages have powerful special abilities, and supporters can, among other things, replenish the mana energy of allies or heal their comrades-in-arms.
