We take a look at the in Summoner’s Rift – Zeri! Which items should you definitely build and how do you actually play them properly?

2022 is already starting with a bang. Zeri has just been announced as the new LoL champion and can already be tested on the PBE server. She is electrifying, plays pretty fast and resembles the new VALORANT agent Neon in this respect.

So new champ… of course we have to tell you everything important right away, right? Right! Zeri is a new Bot Lane Champion and plays like no other before her. Let’s jump right in!

Runes and Item Builds for Zeri

Zeri Runes

As runes we recommend Press the Attack. Its Q gives on-hit effects and counts like your base attacks. So it should deal quite a lot of damage and down the opponents piece by piece.

With Legend: Alacrity you get Attack Speed on top of that. For Zeri this is pretty nice… her maximum is only 1.50, but extra Attack Speed is converted into Attack Damage. This makes her hit even harder in the late game, even if you’ve gone to Attack Speed.

Zeri is also pretty squishy, so it doesn’t really hurt to pack some defensive runes like Boneplating. Especially on the lane you should be a bit safer with it. Zeri and Enchanter are also a match made in heaven, so Shieldbash in the secondary path works wonders.

Zeri Items

There are many ways to play Zeri – either full AD or a mixed build. After the first impressions from the PBE server we clearly prefer the full AD combo. Kraken Slayer or Immortal Shieldbow should be your two go-to items if you want to destroy your opponents with style.

After that, you can relax and go for the typical ADC items. The Collector for the damage and Execute – not to mention the extra gold. IE, Phantom Dancer and finally good ol’ Guardian Angel to give you a second life in the late game.

By the way, Zeri also gets a Withered Rose Skin!

Zeri Gameplay – How to play Zeri

Zeri is the newest ADC and wants to shake up the meta with her kit. After all, she plays differently than any other ADC. Instead of normal auto attacks, with Zeri you use your Q for that. This also doesn’t consume mana.

With Zeri, you should be constantly moving to recharge and dish out extra damage. It’s a strain on your mouse and fingers, but you shouldn’t stop while you’re dealing damage with your Q. This will stack energy until it explodes. By doing so, you stack energy until it explodes, which of course results in massive damage – as is usual for an explosion.

Paired with a shielding support like Lulu, Nami or even Rakan, you can easily dodge all kinds of skill shots. This is already ensured by the additional movement speed due to their passives. Outplay Zeri? Almost impossible.

In the early game you should concentrate on farming. Zeri’s range isn’t exactly the greatest in the gap, so you need a few items to be able to play halfway safely. If you use her Dash too early in a fight, you better back off. Besides her passive, this is your only defensive tool in the kit.

It’s not until level 6 that the party really gets going with Zeri. Here she slowly picks up speed and with a few items in her luggage you can easily slash through your opponents.

Zeri Guide: Good and Bad Synergies

With Zeri you should definitely have an Enchanter Support at your side, who can shield you. With the shield she can gain a lot of speed and save energy. As mentioned before, Zeri should never stand still.

Champions like Lulu or Karma complement her perfectly. You could also test Rakan… not only does he have a shield at the ready, but he can also throw opponents up. For Zeri and her Q, this is of course a found food.

Who you don’t want to hit safely are Yasuo or Leona. For Yasuo, closing the gap to Zeri is no big deal. Once he’s on you, you might as well give up – you’re just so squishy. And Leona… we probably don’t need to explain further. Flash-E-Q combo and good night.

Hopefully this champion build guide has made you a little smarter about the latest of Legends ADC – Zeri. Have fun on the ladder!
