Runes and Item Builds for Renata Glasc
What runes should you take on Renata Glasc?
Renata Glasc may be a support, but you will be playing her similar to a Mage. That’s why we suggest going into the Sorcerer Tree. Summoner Aery is not bad, but Arcane Comet should be the best keystone for her. Of course, you also need Manaflow Band for…. well mana, Transcendence for CDR and Gathering Storm to remain a relevant factor in the late game.
For the secondary rune path, you have several options. If you want to play Renata Glasc more defensively, you should choose Resolve with Font of Life and Overgrowth.
What items should you buy with Renata Glasc?
You tend to want to focus less on the strength of your shields and heals, some form of AP damage would probably make a little more sense. As for the Mythic item, you can’t really go past Imperial Mandate. Full Damage-Renata Glasc also works quite well with Liandry’s.
With the Mythic in the bag, the next choice should be Rylai’s. The item was reduced in price some time ago to help supports. After that, Cosmic Drive and Zhonyas are solid options. This way you can stay safe, take out opponents and dominate the lane.
How to play Renata Glasc
Renata isn’t the kind of support who just sits back and buffs her allies here and there. No, she’s a whole new kind of support – the anti-carry. The stronger the opponent, the stronger Renata Glasc. So how do you master this champion?
In the laning phase, you are boss. The marked champion is the one your ADC has to take down. You are the one who will start skirmishes with your Q-Hook or your E-Slow. But no matter which tool you use, you are the one who dictates the game in the lane.
Remember, these are also your tools to peel for your carry if an Assassin makes his way into your lane! The W will allow your ADC to play as aggressively as they want in the lane. Make sure they know beforehand that they can let off some steam in the lane, too! Communication is key here.
By mid-game, you’ll become an integral part of Team Comp, and thanks to your Ultimate, you’ll be the key to winning team fights. Berserk, the new form of Crowd Control, can literally tear opponents to pieces.
The ability is perfect against high damage teams – something we’ve been seeing a lot of in League of Legends lately. The more damage the opposing team deals, the harder they’ll be punished thanks to Renata’s Ulti, and your team will only have to mop up the crumbs left behind by your ultimate ability.
So tend to stay in the background during your carries – you’re still a squishy enchanter – and target the opposing team with your ultimate. Catch as many as you can in the scent cloud and win the game!
Good and bad synergies with Renata Glasc
Renata Glasc is especially useful against teamfight comps that want to stay together as much as possible. Thanks to her Basic Skills and her Ultimate, she has good AoE damage. However, what champions should you put Renata in the bot lane with?
Renata is great for champions like Samira and Jinx, who can make the most of her boosted W ability. If a dive goes wrong with one of these champions, they still have enough damage left to get the kill before the burn kills them.
Champions like Caitlyn, however, are something you should avoid. Caitlyn has much better range than Renata Glasc, which means Renata won’t be able to reach her with her Q to provoke a fight.
Overall, Renata Glasc looks like a solid mid-to-late game champion who will really strengthen the carries thanks to her abilities. So, get out into the vastness of the internet and play some Renata.
