League of Legends Champions Guides- Wild Rift – Part 4

Everyone has heard of by now. Not much is known about Wild Rift, the version for consoles and mobile. Wild Rift is expected to enter beta soon – and with 41 playable champions. While we all wait for a firm release date, we thought we’d help get to know the game’s champions ahead of time in a four-part series. An early EarlyGame guide to the Wild Rift Champions.

While of Legends has 148 champions, Wild Rift will launch with 41 champions – but that’s subject to change. This will make it easier to get started with the game, as many players looking forward to Wild Rift are probably not that familiar with LoL Champions. That’s why we’ve taken the liberty of providing a sort of overview, or early guide, to all the Wild Rift Champions, so you can get your head around them a bit.

Admittedly, there is not a lot of solid information about Wild Rift, but on the official League of Legends website you can find spotlights on each LoL Champion. So we’ve helped ourselves there and compiled the ones you can play in Wild Rift here:

Teemo

“Teemo is not afraid of even the most dangerous and scary problems. He explores the world with seemingly boundless enthusiasm and a cheerful disposition. The yordle never backs down from his moral principles and prides himself on always following the code of the bandle scouts. Sometimes he does so so zealously that he is unaware of the far-reaching consequences of his actions. While some consider the existence of the scout troop questionable, they can be sure of one thing: Teemo and his convictions are not to be trifled with.”

  • GUERILLA WARfare (passive)
    When Teemo stands still and does nothing for a moment, he camouflages himself until he stirs again. Teemo can move through tall grass and both begin to camouflage and maintain his camouflage. When he becomes visible again, he gains the element of surprise, which increases his attack speed for 3 seconds.
  • BLEND ARROW
    Obscures an enemy’s vision using a powerful poison that damages the target unit and blinds it for that time.
  • QUICK MOVEMENT
    Teemo dashes around, passively increasing his movement speed until he is hit by an enemy or turret. Teemo can also jump momentarily, increasing his running speed without this effect being cancelled by attacks.
  • POISON SHOT
    Teemo poisons the target with his attacks, causing damage on impact and every second for 4 seconds.
  • POISON FALL
    Teemo crafts an explosive, poisonous trap from one of the mushrooms in his backpack and throws it out. When an enemy falls into the trap, a cloud of poison is released, slowing them down and dealing repeated damage. If Teemo throws a mushroom at an already placed mushroom, it will bounce off it, giving it more range.

Tryndamere

“With unbridled rage and frenzy, Tryndamere once slashed through Freljord, challenging the greatest warriors of the north in preparation for even darker days ahead. The angry barbarian has long thirsted for vengeance for the destruction of his clan, but recently he has joined forces with Ashe, a warrior mother of the Avarosa, and found a home with her people. His almost inhuman strength and bravery are legendary, and against all odds have brought him and his new allies countless victories.”

  • FIGHTING RAGE (passive).
    Tryndamere accumulates more Fury with each hit, critical strike, and deathblow. This passively increases his critical hit chance and can be consumed with Bloodthirst.
  • BLOOD THURST
    The thrill of battle serves as Tryndamere’s incentive, so as the severity of his injuries increases, so does his attack damage. He can activate “Bloodthirst” to consume his fury and heal himself.
  • SPOTTRUF
    Tryndamere roars an insult that reduces the attack damage of nearby champions. It also causes a run speed reduction on enemies with their backs to Tryndamere.
  • WHIRLING BLADE
    Tryndamere whirls to a target unit, dealing damage to all enemies hit.
  • UNBALANCED RAGE
    Tryndamere’s battle rage becomes so fierce that he cannot die no matter how badly he is wounded.

Twisted Fate

“Twisted Fate is a notorious con man and swindler who has played and flattered his way throughout the known world, earning him the hostility and admiration of the rich as well as the stupid. He rarely takes anything seriously, starting each new day with a mocking grin and strutting off without a care in the world. Twisted Fate basically always has some ace up his sleeve.”

  • TWISTED CARD (passive).
    When he kills a unit, Twisted Fate rolls his ‘Lucky Dice’ and receives between 1 and 6 additional gold.
  • JOKER
    Twisted Fate rolls 3 cards that deal magic damage to any unit they hit as they fly by.
  • DRAW A CARD
    Twisted Fate chooses a magic card from his deck and uses it for his next attack, causing it to deal additional effects.
  • CARD STACK
    Twisted Fate deals additional damage every 4th attack. It also increases his attack speed.
  • FATE
    Twisted Fate predicts the fate of his opponents, thereby revealing all enemy champions, allowing him to use a portal that teleports Twisted Fate to any target position in 1.5 seconds.

Varus

“Varus was a deadly enforcer, a descendant of the ancient dark ones. He liked to drive his enemies mad and then execute them with a final arrow. He came into captivity at the end of the Great Dark War, from which he escaped after centuries by seizing the interwoven bodies of two Ionian hunters. They had freed Varus in their ignorance and now carry the bow that houses his essence. Varus now searches for those who once chained him to quench his brutal thirst for vengeance. The mortal souls within him, however, fight against his quest with every step.”

  • LIFE GRANT (passive).
    Varus temporarily gains extra attack speed when he kills or helps kill an opponent. The bonus is greater for enemy champions.
  • PENETRATING ARROW
    Varus draws his bow and then fires a powerful shot whose range and damage increase with preparation time.
  • TAINTED QUIVER
    Passive: Varus’ normal attacks deal additional magical damage and cause “Corruption”. Varus’ other abilities detonate “Corruption” and deal magic damage depending on the target’s maximum life. Active: Varus boosts his next “Piercing Arrow”.
  • ARROW HAGUE
    Varus fires a hail of arrows that deals normal damage and desecrates the ground. The desecrated ground reduces the movement speed of enemies and reduces their healing and regeneration.
  • CHAIN OF CORRUPTION
    Varus hurls a damage-dealing tendril of corruption that immobilizes the first enemy champion it hits, and then spreads to nearby uninfected champions, who are also immobilized on contact.

Vayne

“Shauna Vayne is a deadly and ruthless monster hunter from Demacia who has dedicated her life to hunting down the demon that murdered her family. Truly happy, Vayne is only when, full of a thirst for revenge, she can mow down wizards and creatures of the dark arts from the shadows with the crossbow on her wrist with her silver bolts.”

  • HUNTER OF THE NIGHT (passive).
    Vayne relentlessly hunts evildoers and gains 30 run speed when moving towards nearby enemy champions.
  • HEIGHT CONTROL
    Vayne performs a short pike roll and gets into position for her next shot. Her next attack deals additional damage.
  • SILVER BOLTS
    Vayne provides her bolts with tips of rare metal that poison the vicious. The third attack, whether normal attack or ability, in a row on the same target deals a percentage of the target’s maximum life as absolute damage.
  • DAMN
    Vayne draws her heavy crossbow from her back and fires a huge bolt at her target, knocking it back and dealing damage. If it collides with the environment, it is impaled, suffers additional damage, and is stunned.
  • LAST HOUR.
    Vayne prepares for an epic confrontation. She gains additional attack damage, invisibility during Pike Roll, reduces the cooldown of Pike Roll, and increases the additional run speed of Huntress of the Night.

Vi

“Vi, once a criminal from the darkest quarters of Zhaun, is a hot-headed and fearsome woman who shows little respect for authority figures. She has been on her own since childhood, honing her survival instincts in the alleys – as well as her quirky, gruff sense of humor. She’s been on her own since childhood, honing her survival instincts in the alleys – just like her quirky, gruff sense of humor. She now wields her powerful hextech gloves with the Guardians of Piltover as a keeper of the peace, shattering both walls and the bones of criminals.”

  • SHOCK SHIELD (passive)
    Vi charges a shield over time. The shield can be activated by hitting an enemy with an ability.
  • RAMMBOCK
    Vi charges her gauntlets and unleashes a wall-shaking blow that carries her forward. Enemies she hits are knocked back and receive 1 Demoralizing Blows boost.
  • ATTRITIONAL BLOWS
    Vis blows destroy the target’s armor, dealing additional damage and granting her attack speed.
  • USE OF FORCE
    Vis next attack pushes through her target, dealing damage to enemies behind it.
  • ASSAULT
    Vi runs down an opponent, knocking aside anyone in the way. Once she reaches her target, she slams it into the air, jumps after it, and slams it back to the ground.

Xin Zhao

“Xin Zhao is a determined warrior loyal to the Light Shield Dynasty. He once fought for mere survival in countless gladiatorial battles in the doomed battle pits of Noxus, but when he was freed by Demacian forces, he swore eternal allegiance to those brave liberators upon his life. With his beloved three-tipped spear, Xin Zhao now fights for his adopted homeland, boldly challenging any opponent regardless of the risk.”

  • DISAPPOINTMENT (passive).
    Every 3rd attack deals additional damage and heals Xin Zhao.
  • THREE-CLAW STRIKE
    Xin Zhao deals increased damage with his next 3 normal attacks, with the 3rd attack throwing the hit opponent into the air.
  • WIND TO BLITZ
    Xin Zhao swings his spear in front of him and then thrusts it forward, slowing down hit enemies.
  • BOLD ATTACK
    Xin Zhao charges at an enemy, dealing damage to all enemies in the area and slowing them momentarily.
  • SIGHT PROTECTION
    Xin Zhao deals damage to nearby enemies based on their current life, and knocks back unchallenged targets. Xin Zhao is immune to damage dealt by champions outside the created circle.

Yasuo

“Yasuo is a determined Ionian and an agile swordsman who uses the air itself against his opponents. As a proud young man, he was falsely accused of murdering his master. Unable to prove his innocence, he was forced to kill his own brother in self-defense. Even after his master’s true killer was revealed, Yasuo could not forgive himself for his actions. He now roams his homeland, letting the wind guide his blade.”

  • WAY OF THE WANDERER (passive).
    Yasuo’s chance of critical hits is doubled. In addition, Yasuo builds up a shield when he moves. The shield is triggered when he takes damage from a champion or monster.
  • STEEL STORM
    Yasuo thrusts his katana forward, dealing damage to all enemies in a line. On a hit, Steel Storm grants 1 boost of Rising Storm for a few seconds. On 2 boosts, “Steel Storm” unleashes a whirlwind that hurls enemies into the air. “Steel Storm” is treated as a normal attack and scales with the same effects and multipliers.
  • WINEMAKER
    Creates a wall that blocks all enemy projectiles for 4 seconds.
  • SWISHING BLADE
    Charges through a targeted enemy, dealing magic damage. Each execution increases the base damage of the next storm, up to a maximum limit. Cannot be used again on the same enemy for a few seconds. When Steel Storm is executed during the storm, it hits in a circular fashion.
  • WINDWARD
    Jumps to an enemy champion that is in the air, dealing normal damage and pinning all nearby enemies that are flung up in the air. Grants the maximum number of increases from Determination, but resets all increases from Gathering Storm. Yasuo gains additional armor penetration on his critical hits for a moderate amount of time afterward.

Zed

“Zed is utterly ruthless as well as without a sense of mercy, and is also the leader of the Order of Shadows, an organization he founded to militarize Ionia’s fighting and magical arts in order to repel the Noxian invaders. During the war, his desperation led him to the secrets of the Shadow Form – an insidious spirit magic as dangerous and corrupt as it is powerful. Zed has learned all the forbidden techniques to destroy anyone who poses a threat to his nation or his new order.”

  • DEATH TO THE WEAK (passive).
    Zed’s normal attacks deal additional magic damage if the target has low life. This effect can only be triggered on the same target every few seconds.
  • BLADE SHURIKEN
    Zed and his shadows throw their shuriken. Each shuriken deals damage to all enemies hit.
  • LIVING SHADOW
    Passive: When Zed and his shadows hit a target with the same ability, Zed gains energy. This can only happen once per ability. Active: Zed’s shadow jumps forward and stays in place for a few seconds. When he reactivates Living Shadow, he swaps positions with his shadow.
  • SHADOW STRIKE
    Zed and his shadows lash out, dealing damage to nearby enemies.
  • SIGN OF DEATH
    Zed cannot be targeted and jumps to an enemy champion, marking them. After 3 seconds, the mark will trigger and deal a portion of the damage dealt to the target while Zed was marked again.

Ziggs

“With his penchant for big bombs and short fuses, Yordle Ziggs is truly an explosive force of nature. He quickly grew bored of his assistant position with an inventor in Piltover and befriended a crazy blue-haired bomber named Jinx. After a wild night on the town, Ziggs took her advice and moved to Zhaun. There he indulges his fascination with all things explosive undisturbed, terrorizing the Chem barons as well as ordinary residents in an eternal quest to blow something up.”

  • SHORT LUNE (passive).
    Periodically, Ziggs’ next normal attack deals additional magic damage. The cooldown decreases when Ziggs uses an ability.
  • BOUNCING BOMB
    Ziggs throws a bouncing bomb that deals magic damage.
  • BLASTING BOMB
    Ziggs throws an explosive charge that detonates after 4 seconds or when this ability is activated again. The explosion deals magic damage to enemies and pushes them away. Ziggs is also pushed away, but suffers no damage. Ziggs can use the explosive charge to make vulnerable enemy turrets hexplode.
  • EXPLOSIVE MINEFIELD
    Ziggs scatters proximity mines that explode on enemy contact, dealing magic damage and slowing. Successive detonations against the same target cause reduced damage.
  • MEGAINFERNO BOMB
    Ziggs deploys his ultimate creation – the Megainferno Bomb – and hurls it over massive distances. Enemies in the main blast area take more magic damage than enemies further away.
