League of Legends Champion Guides- Ahri

In our Champion series, we introduce you to the most important mechanics of all champions. Today we’ll cover a staple of the game, my secret love since the beginning: The Vixen, whose abilities have remained almost the same since 2011. We’ll take a look at Ahri.

Originally desinged as an assassin, Ahri’s identity has changed quite little over the years in the Clan. She’s an all-rounder and can do a little bit of everything. You can give Ahri a chance with a clear conscience, she works on the principle: easy to learn, hard to master. But that’s what we’re here for, to make things a little easier for you. So let’s let ourselves be enchanted.

Ahris mechanics

Using both instances of Q correctly

Ahri throws a magic orb in front of her with her Q ability, which flies right back to her. In doing so, it does a whole lot more damage to the enemy on the way back, and more importantly, absolute damage. So at best, try to hit your opponent on the lane at maximum range with both instances at the same time. This all-or-nothing principle often proves its worth, because especially at the beginning of the game you only have to hit once to apply pressure.

Of course, otherwise you always have good opportunities to land the second instance on the opponent via the or via the Flash. The Orb often takes steeper turns than a Sion storming towards you from its own Jungle.

Fox Fire Healing on the Lane

Ahri benefits greatly from her passive ability. It’s essential for your stamina in the lane that you build up the stacks so that you can heal yourself in dicey situations. However, in this game full of damage from all sides, it can happen that you don’t even dare to approach the Minions because certain death awaits you there in the form of a fed Akali.

Then it’s usually a good idea to run to the raptor camp and throw a stacked Q over the wall. Then run with Ahri directly to the right for a very short time before going back to the lane. This way you make sure that the Orb has touched all Raptors once on the way back and you unlock the maximum healing power.

Become a playmaker

Ahris Championdesign trusts you to make plays and test limits. So, don’t be afraid to use your flash and to ulte in most situations. Of course, with a little dexterity (beware of breakage!) you can use a whole host of smaller mechanics to give you an advantage.

The most popular is probably the e-flash mechanic: If you point your mouse cursor in a direction, press E, and use your Flash during the animation to get past Minions, for example, the charm will automatically go in the direction you first targeted. Ahri’s animation will be cut short this way. Difficult to predict and even more difficult to dodge!

Also remember: You’ll get the most kills standing in bushes waiting for an enemy to run into you and fall in love. So always switch to sweeper!
