Shortly after FC Bayern Munich, Inter Milan is also confirmed as video game partner of eFootball. This exclusive contract has consequences for FIFA developer and competitor EA Sports. Konami secures exclusive licensing rights to Inter Milan in the eFootball series. Konami describes the eFootball developer’s deal as a “of their largest soccer partnerships.”

From July 2024, Inter Milan will be exclusive to eFootball. This was publicly announced by Konami in its press release last Friday. Both sides will thus have a “Global Video Game Partner Status.”
What does this mean for FIFA 23?
Nothing should change yet in FIFA 23, the title that will be released this year, because of this partnership. The last FIFA title of its kind is expected in late September or early October and will be replaced by its successor, EA Sports FC, a year later. Only under EA’s new video game name will the cooperation between Inter Milan and Konami have an impact.
The fact is: no later than July 2024, Inter Milan will not exist as a name in EA Sports FC, nor will the San Siro stadium be seen. Konami has clearly stated this because “no other video game” will have access to the traditional Italian club. From July 2024, version 2.0.0 will also launch in the free game eFootball and the exclusive partnership. “The partnership itself will include many different advertising, image and activation rights,” the press release said.
“This will include authentic jerseys, the newly designed training jersey and the infamous San Siro stadium in the game” it continues. In terms of esports there will also be Inter presence. The club will be competing in the eFootball Championship Pro competition.
Konami will also be present at the Inter training ground in the future. As part of the “multi-year partnership”, the eFootball lettering will also adorn the backs of Inter Milan’s training jerseys. This will affect both the men’s and women’s professional teams, as confirmed by the club. In addition, Konami will be represented as a name on the training pitch, which is the home ground of the women’s and youth teams.
Collaborations with Bayern Munich and AC Milan
Konami has extended its contract with FC Bayern Munich just a few days ago. AC Milan has also signed a new contract with the Japanese company. This makes Inter Milan the third top international club in a very short time to join forces with the eFootball publisher. Meanwhile, Juventus Torino seems to be back at the disposal of competitor EA Sports after the expiration of its three-year contract.
