Is Burning Crusade coming like it did back then? No, it changes

With Burning Crusade Classic, wants to make the WoW community happy. But that also means that there will be some changes.

For many WoW: Classic players, the biggest announcement at was probably that of Burning Crusade Classic. After all, many players have fond memories of that WoW era, while some weren’t even around back then and can dive into Outland as a relevant area for the first time.

But there were also a number of changes that were discussed that differed from the original game version.

Riding already from level 30

What sounds like a shock and a big change for many players is actually not. Because in patch 2.4.3 – still in the era of The Burning Crusade – Blizzard had already reduced the necessary level for the first mount to level 30.

Since this patch will be the basis for the whole Burning Crusade Classic experience, players will be able to ride mounts starting at level 30 already at launch.

This should be especially relevant for players who still want to level up a secondary character or who want to join the battle as Draenei and Blood Elves. By the way, there is more good news for them …

WoW Burning Crusade Blood Elf Mana Wyrm

Blood Elves and Draenei – the new races in The Burning Crusade. They have a little time to level up.

Draenei and Blood Elves from Pre-Patch

Starting with the pre-patch of Burning Crusade Classic, players will be able to create Blood Elves and Draenei. They will then have a few weeks to get their characters to level 60 before the Dark Portal opens and everyone pours into Outland together.

Back when The Burning Crusade first launched, it was different. There, Blood Elves and Draenei could only be created together with the launch, which caused fans of the new races to lag behind for a long time while their friends were already mastering hard dungeons and collecting good equipment.

The change is especially helpful so that Alliance players can be accompanied directly by Shamans, while Horde players immediately go into battle with Paladins.

Seal of Blood for all Paladins

Paladins can rejoice as one of the greatest injustices of Burning Crusade is eradicated. Not only blood elves get access to the Seal of Blood, but also paladins in the Alliance.

WoW Alterac Paladin Yes title 1140x445
Alliance paladins get an equivalent sigil of blood.

Why is this being changed? The reason is that Signet of Blood was simply much more powerful than Signet of Retribution. So that blood elf paladins aren’t leaps and bounds stronger than their Alliance counterparts – and the community would flock to the Horde – all paladins just get that sigil.

As part of maintaining faction balance, this is certainly a good decision.

Burning Crusade might get LFG tool

This is no reason for Classic players to panic, though. It’s not a tool that automatically finds players and then throws groups into the dungeon pre-made. Blizzard doesn’t want to introduce that at all.

It’s just a way to better list searching players, so it’s easier to see who else is looking for a group. This should help potential candidates find each other more quickly.

Once again: There will be no automated group assignment as in Retail.

By the way, this is not completely new. In The Burning Crusade there was already a simple LFG tool via the assembly stones. However, this was hardly used and was also very limited in its functions.

More small adjustments planned

What else is changing? In addition to these rather large changes, there are also a number of detail adjustments that are to come. There are no concrete plans for this yet, but the issues are being discussed and changes are being thought through:

  • The war drums are so strong that they virtually require raiders to choose leatherworking as a profession for everyone. This is on the radar and should be adjusted.
  • Arena teams will probably be larger. So a team of 5 can get a maximum of 10 members. This allows the teams to play even if a player has no time.
  • The PvP – Season s could be adjusted to the phases, so that there are more or less PvP – Season s than back in the original Burning Crusade.

What do you think of the planned changes to Burning Crusade Classic? Are they good and reasonable adjustments? Or should the game have been left completely untouched?
