Rocket League – Season 3 is entering its final round and will end on August 11. That means it’s time to talk about what’s coming in – Season 4. You may have seen the community update on Reddit last week about improvements to tournaments. Psyonix is excited to announce that with the start of – Season 4, more competitive tournaments will be added every day, including tournaments for 2v2 and extra modes!
EXPANSION OF THE TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE IN – Season 4
2v2 tournaments are here and work just like 3v3 tournaments. Simply enter a competitive tournament, either solo or with a teammate to participate in a 32-team bracket, and climb your way to victory! As new tournaments have been added to the daily schedule, they will not simply replace the existing 3v3 tournaments. Therefore, the daily schedule of competitive tournaments will be expanded to allow for more tournaments in each region! Between eight and 13 additional tournaments will be added per week in each region. Check out the schedule each day to find out which tournament works best for you and your team.
As the number of tournaments is increased each day, different types of tournaments can be added to the schedule, such as Extra Mode tournaments. The extra mode offered can change every day. So check the schedule every day for tournaments in Rumble, Hoops, Snow Day and Dropshot! Teams participate in Extra Mode tournaments with their tournament rank, but tournament ranks are not affected by performance in Extra Mode tournaments. However, players will still earn tournament credits and tournament titles from these tournaments.
Psyonix will keep a close eye on the impact of these newly added time slots and modes and adjust the schedule as necessary.
UPDATED TOURNAMENT INTERFACE
In addition to an expanded schedule of competitive tournaments, – Season 4 will also bring an updated look for the Tournament History tab. This new U.I. will display a log of your competitive tournaments, including when you entered, your placement, and the rank of the tournament. Speaking of rank, your tournament rank is now displayed on the tournament start screen.
