There is a striking statistical anomaly in League of Legends: in North America, a player tops the leaderboard in “Ranked Flex” who has won 99% of his matches. With 2188 LP, he is ranked No. 1 in Challenger worldwide. That actually seems impossible. Obviously things are not going right.
What is this player?
- The player’s account is called “Year Year U Fish”, he is a support main (via na.op.gg).
- His main champions are Thresh, Nautilus and Karma.
- The special thing is: In “Ranked Flex” the player has a win rate of 98.76%. He has 239 wins this – Season and lost only 3 times.
The number is so impressive because no one even comes close to it: 2nd on the world rankings has 65.09%.
Is it simply the best player ever? Probably not. In the solo cue the player has “only” reached the Platinum rank, with 15 wins and 7 losses.
In previous – Season s he came to ranks like “Diamond 3” (2021) and “Bronze 1” (2020. So unless he’s the main character from “Kung Fu Hustle” and magically discovered his chi, that seems unlikely.
Even Faker can’t keep up with that: The life of Faker – That’s why he’s a living legend
LoL player apparently competes with a team of buddies who lose everything without him
Why exactly is he winning so many games? That’s what’s being discussed in the U.S. right now.
One likely possibility is that he’s teaming up with players who are actually outstanding, but who are intentionally losing matches without him in Flexed Ranked so that their rank stays low.
The site “gameriv” states that Year U Fish repeatedly matches with the same players who have a much lower rank in Flex Rank than he does:
- For example, the account “Rosermine” is listed, who is a “Grandmaster” player in the Solo Queue, that is, one of the best on the server. In the Flex queue, however, the account is only “Platinum 1”.
- Also, other players that Year U Fish regularly plays with seem to constantly lose matches when he is not playing with them, but then win virtually everything once he joins the team.
Who will win the LoL Worlds 2022? After the draw there will be 2 groups of death and the dreams of the west will die
That’s one possible explanation: The “Challenger” player Year U Fish regularly competes with 4 players who have lower ranks than he does, so he is assigned weak opponents and can apparently eliminate them 99 times out of 100. This is because his teammates are “Smurfs” – strong players who pretend to be weak players in order to slaughter weaker players. But this is all just speculation from web sites at the moment to explain this anomaly. But it sure looks like a group of friends has found a way to trick the League of Legends system.
This is a player who is really good with Thresh: An 18 year old is considered a “monster” and a “genius” in LoL – Yet he plays the most thankless role
