CoD Black Ops: Cold War – Trailer introduces Dirty Bomb mode
Up to 40 players battle it out in the new mode for Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War – and dirty bombs, which can even be used to irradiate the map.
We give you all the info on Fireteam, what exactly you need to do in it, and why collectible “flags” will slowly but surely kill you!
Fireteam: 40 players with tanks and helicopters
With Fireteam, a brand-new mode was announced during a preview stream in September, which at first glance looks strongly reminiscent of the Battlefield series. The page of the CoD experts CharlieIntel has meanwhile also provided additional info on the 40-player mode of Black Ops: Cold War.
- Large maps with vehicles: The Fireteam rounds take place on huge maps, with up to 40 players at a time, and also make use of tanks and helicopters. You can find the corresponding clip of the stream on YouTube.
- However, it also becomes more complex: In Fireteam, two large teams do not meet each other; instead, a total of ten squads of four players each compete against each other to complete several tasks together in the course of a match.
- A flag that kills you: In the Fireteam version “Dirty Bomb”, the object is to collect uranium and use it to plant dirty bombs. The problem: the longer your operator is in possession of uranium, the more he suffers from radiation sickness. Perks, movement and life regeneration slowly fail – until your operator finally dies!
- There is a separate respawn mechanic for this: Should you bite the dust during a game of Fireteam, a relatively unique respawn mechanic for Call of Duty comes into play. You can either parachute over the map, spawn directly to your four-player squad, or spawn in the passenger seat of a team member.
- Parts of the map become unplayable: But what happens if you get a dirty bomb enriched with enough uranium and it goes off? The detonation gives you points and contaminates parts of the map radioactively, which also affects Perks, Movement, Life and so on. The contaminated parts of the map become unplayable accordingly!
