“I seriously thought I died in real life”.

A bug in caused the boss to roar so loudly that it caused some players to properly frightened. On reddit, the community described their reaction to the roaring boss.

Destiny 2 players encountered a rather loud boss in the Kingsfall raid due to a bug. In the fight against the ogre Golgoroth, an enormously loud roar seems to be triggered when the player dies.

Some were quite startled by the roar and sudden high volume. Overall, however, the Destiny 2 community took it with humor. The problem of the ogre roar is already known to Bungie. Until the bug is fixed, it is advised to turn down the volume when fighting Golgoroth.

Golgoroth defeated not only the players, but also their ears

What does the community say on reddit? On reddit, players share their experiences to the boss Golgoroth and described their reactions to his roar (via reddit):

  • ManuelIgnacioM: “ I thought you just muted the rest of the video because all I could hear was a very loud scream. But then I noticed my volume was almost at minimum. Would have been funny as hell to experience that”
  • lucky_yaeger: “I seriously thought I died in real life…. (Volume was set too low, it maxed itself out lmao)”
  • Herobine0: “I quickly threw away my headphones. Twice!”

While some players were terrified and called the bug a jump scare, most took it with humor. Many felt reminded of a similar, earlier Destiny bug: “1k Voices”, where a loud bug also scared the players.

What is Bungie’s reaction to the bug? Bungie Help, the official Twitter page for Service Updates of Destiny meanwhile wrote: “We are aware of an issue where Golgoroth sometimes emits an extremely loud roar in the Kingfall Raid.” It goes on to say, “It is recommended to reduce the audio output when fighting Golgoroth until a fix can be implemented.”

So it seems that Bungie is already working on a solution to the problem, and it’s a matter of time how long Golgoroth will keep his loud roar.

Have you already fought against roar boss Golgoroth? Feel free to write it in the comments.

In Boderlands 3 there was also a big screamer, but it has since been quieted down by a hotfix.
