How bad will Ronaldo and Messi be in FIFA 23?

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have always been among the absolute elite in over the last decade. In fact, they always fought for the first and second place in the list of the best rated players. Will the era of the two world footballers end in ?
Ronaldo Messi FIFA 23

It came as it had to come: After Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t reach the Champions quarterfinals last – Season for the first time in 16 (!) years, the whole thing repeated itself this year. Paris Saint-Germain was knocked out by Real Madrid and Manchester United was beaten by Atlético Madrid. The culprits were quickly found (even more quickly for PSG fans): Messi and Ronaldo.

The Portuguese turned 37 in February, the Argentine will be 35 in June. And many fans agree: world class yes – but no longer outstanding beyond that. Where are the spectacular individual actions of the two exceptional players in the CL? For Messi, it was the end of this series after 13 round of 16 finals with at least one scorer point in a row. Ronaldo remained without a shot on goal against Atletico for only the third time ever in a Champions League match.

Clearly, the two are not solely to blame for the elimination of their teams – nevertheless, we have seen other games and actions from both. Actions that single-handedly decided matches.

How good will Messi and Ronaldo be in FIFA 23?

This is exactly why there is a hot discussion not only on Reddit: How good will Messi and Ronaldo be in the next part? Or in other words:

Will the Messi and Ronaldo era end in FIFA 23?

From FIFA 11 to FIFA 21 there were only the two superstars Messi and Ronaldo on place 1 and 2 of the best players in FIFA. It wasn’t until FIFA 22 that Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski famously moved into 2nd place with 92 OVR and ahead of CR7 (91 OVR).

How good the two will be in FIFA 23 is still pure speculation at the moment. But not least because of their early elimination in the premier league, it should go down for both in FIFA 23. As we said, they’re not getting any younger. We could imagine a rating of 91 for both of them. Ronaldo has dropped from 93 to 91 in the last three years, while Messi has dropped from 94 to 93. The Argentine will definitely get a downgrade in the next FIFA.

In any case, we hope that both of them will remain on the pitch for a few more years. They won’t disappear in FIFA anyway. Both of them will (hopefully) find a place in our teams directly as icons after their careers end (as if you could ever afford Messi or CR7).

Who will be the best player in FIFA 23?
EA seems to have already found a new superstar. Kylian Mbappé still has “only” a 91 in FIFA – but as a meta high-flyer everybody wants to have him in the team even more than Messi and Ronaldo.

If you take a look at the best players in FIFA 22, it quickly becomes clear that Mbappé has a good chance of an even higher rating – but depending on the CL – Season and the remaining league performance, the best player in FIFA 23 will be Robert Lewandowski, Mohamed Salah or Karim Benzema.
