What is the TOTY?

The best players of the year end up in the “Team of the Year”, which is released with extremely improved cards in Ultimate Team. The TOTY is voted on by the fans, so players decide which cards will ultimately be included in the TOTY.

When does the TOTY start?

The TOTY started on Friday evening, January 21, 2022 at 19:00 with the strikers cards. After that the midfielders appeared and then the TOTY defenders including goalkeepers.

Now, on January 27 at 19:00, the complete Team of the Year is available. The 12th man should follow in the coming days.

Update, January 28, 2021:

More strong cards went online in FUT on Friday night at 19:00, adding to the Team of the Year.

What are these cards?

Cristiano Ronaldo has won the election for the 12th man in TOTY and thus received a powerful 97 card. It can be found in packs from now on, just like the rest of the TOTY.

Also, Honorable Mentions are now in the packs. These are some TOTY candidates who didn’t quite make the team of the year, but now get hefty cards anyway. They’re not quite as strong as real TOTYs, but there are definitely a few top cards in there:

In addition, there is a new card for Martinez in the SBCs and another for Shaw in the weekly tasks.

The Team of the Year will now also remain in packs for another week.

What else brings the Team of the Year in FIFA 22?

The TOTY players end up for easy in the packs of FIFA 22, but this also leads to criticism. Because: The cards are not only very rare and hard to get, but also still damn expensive on the transfer market.

This could also be seen with streamers who opened extremely many packs to get hardly TOTY cards in the end. So getting a TOTY card at release is an impossibility for many players.

What else might be coming?
