Heroes Dota 2 – Winter Wyvern

Winter Wyvern: “Some breathe fire, I breathe ice.”

Auroth, the Winter Wyvern (Winter Lindworm), is an heroine from DotA and Dota 2. In the game she can take on the role of a disabler, initiator and support. Winter Wyvern is a ranged Dire unit that can cast various ice spells. Arctic Burn allows Winter Wyvern to increase the range of her ranged attack as well as her night vision range. Arctic Burn also slows down enemy units and burns a certain percentage of their health when she attacks them. Splinter Blast fires a projectile at an enemy unit, causing no damage to the unit itself but passing damage to surrounding allies, who are also slowed. Cold Embrace allows Winter Wyvern to encase allied heroes in ice, giving them increased Health regeneration. For their cast time, the trapped Heroes are immune to physical damage, but also cannot move. Auroth’s Ultimate Winter’s Curse can be applied to an enemy unit to freeze it and drive surrounding enemies in the area of effect into a frenzy through which they attack their frozen ally. Enemies killed in this way are counted as a kill to Winter Wyvern. It appeared in Dota 2 with the 2015 New Bloom update, which was previously hinted at in ‘The Coming of the Year Beast’ and ‘The New Neighbors’.

Winter Wyvern- Hype

Winter Wyvern stalks the skies, slowing foes with burning cold as she soars over the battlefield. Should the enemy be foolish enough to gather, she curses them to attack one of their own as she blasts the gathering with icy splinters.

Winter Wyvern- Biography

“Like so many great poets, Auroth simply wants time to write, but in the lives of the Winter Wyvern there are numerous disruptions. The epics of the Eldworms have a long and glittering past, but many believe that the remaining scholars of the dragons have recently lost productivity. For since the Great Age, only a few lines have been added to the Eldwurm Eddas. Auroth also complains about this: “We forget that life is about more than triumph and domination over our enemies. Rather, we also live to express our creativity.” That’s why she collects books on her numerous research expeditions, because she hopes to find inspiration from them. But that, of all things, turned out to be terribly distracting, so Auroth also writes far less than she should. All too often she finds herself in epic battles against powerful opponents when she should be in her lair working on the Eddas. She raids castles and ancient libraries, and if she finds riches in the process, she dismisses it as a mere side effect of her research. In fact, her on the battlefield are legendary, while her scientific endeavors have gone largely unnoticed. However, she is not content to be the content of tales and legends, but would like to write them herself.”

Heroes (Dota 2)

The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.

Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.
