Heroes (Dota 2)
The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.
Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.
Viper: “Prepare for poison.”
Viper, the Netherdrake (Nether Dragon), is an agility hero from DotA and Dota 2. He is a ranged Dire hero. Viper’s poison can damage enemy units for a long time, slowing them down and reducing their attack and movement speed. In the game, he can take on the role of a Carry and Durabler. With his first ability, Poison Attack, Viper can boost his attack and poison opponents, slowing their movement and attack speed and dealing additional damage over time. With Poison Attack, Viper can choose to poison individual attacks, cast the ability on every attack, or not use the ability. Nethertoxin, his first passive ability, increases the damage of attacks and boosts it on stricken enemies, with greater damage to heroes. The Corrosive Skin ability, also passive, poisons enemies that damage Viper in any way. The distance to Viper does not matter. This effect also slows movement and attack speed, and affects suffer damage over time. In addition, the ability increases Viper’s magic resistance. When Viper casts his Ultimate Viper Strike, he also shoots a paralyzing and damage-over-time charge of poison at a target. Aghanim’s Scepter increases the range of Viper Strike and reduces the ultimate’s mana cost and cooldown.
Viper- Hype
Launching deadly poison from a distance, Viper poses a grave threat to whomever he targets. As his various toxins eat away at an enemy’s health and slow their movement, Viper simply does what he does best:
Viper- Biography
“A malevolent confidant of a sadistic sorcerer who had captured him and hoped to render him docile, Viper was initially curiously glad to have escaped the locked and unchanging rivers of the underworld where his kind had lived for millions of years after a landslide trapped the Netherdrakes in luminous caverns. Viper spent some time pretending to submit to captivity, hoping to learn something of the black magic the mage practiced. But he soon realized that few spells were as deadly as the poisons he had possessed since birth. With the help of an acid that quickly ate away at the bars of his cage, the Netherdrake escaped his prison, spat some poison into the old wizard’s eyes, and flew away to let the world know it had a new master.”
