Heroes (Dota 2)
The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.
Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.
Templar Assassin: “In defense of the Temple.”
Lanaya, the Templar Assassin, is an agility heroine from DotA and Dota 2. Templar Assassin has a low ranged combat range, which she can increase with her Psi Blade ability. She belongs to the Radiant. In the game, Templar Assassin can take on the role of a Carry and an Escaper. Templar Assassin, like most of the other assassins in the game, is proper for targeted ambushes against heroes of the other team. Refraction grants Templar Assassin two different instances that let her deflect damage and deal additional damage. Each attack from her or attack on her makes one of the instances disappear. With Meld, Templar Assassin can make herself invisible indefinitely as long as she does not move. Should she break the invisibility with an attack, it will cause bonus damage and reduce the target’s armor. Her third ability, Psi Blades, passively increases Templar Assassin’s attack range and penetrates enemies, allowing her to damage enemies standing in a line at the same time. Templar Assassin’s Ultimate Psionic Trap makes it possible for her to place up to eleven traps on the map. These traps grant the team a small range of vision and can be activated with Trap. Trap automatically activates the nearest trap. Traps reduce the movement speed of enemy units near them, with the amount of slowdown depending on the length of time the trap is in place. You cannot improve Psionic Trap with Aghanim’s Scepter.
Templar Assassin- Hype
Peppering the battlefield with slowing traps, Templar Assassin hides invisibly, ready to ambush her prey. Once she springs her attack, she shreds enemies with piercing psionic blades, and deflects counterattacks with her refracting shield.
Templar Assassin- Biography
“Lanaya, the Templar Assassin, found her calling through a series of curiosity-driven investigations. Pursuing her scientific bent, she spent her youth meticulously studying the laws of nature — rummaging through spellbooks of magic and alchemy, repeating experiments from the charred book remains of the violet archive, and memorizing observations of the Keen’s scribal guardians. Though already quiet and stealthy by nature, her penchant for stealth intensified in the face of the difficulties her research presented. Had she not been so shy, she could have become a notorious thief. Instead, her investigations led her to all the more sinister corners. While devoting her stealthy skills to exploring the mysteries of the universe, she discovered a secret door of nature: the entrance to the Hidden Temple. It turned out that the beings behind this portal, were already awaiting her arrival. The secrets that this discovery revealed were nothing compared to the answers they held out to Lanaya, should she choose to enter their service. She swore to protect those secrets, but more importantly, she can now satisfy her endless craving for knowledge in the service of the Hidden Temple. With each enemy eradicated, a little bit more of the secret is revealed.”
