Heroes (Dota 2)

The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.

Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.

Sven: “Rogue Knight at your service!”

Sven, the Rogue Knight Sven Icon.png, is a strength hero from DotA and Dota 2. Sven is primarily a melee unit that can deal devastating damage with his weapon and buff himself and allies with his abilities. He belongs to the Radiant. In the game, he can take on the roles of a Disabler, Initiator, Carry, and Support. The Storm Hammer ability can damage and stun an enemy target unit, while Great Cleave grants Sven area damage on normal melee attacks, allowing him to quickly defeat enemy troops single-handedly. Warcry also lends itself to direct support of allies, as the ability grants Sven and his allies additional armor and speed. Sven’s Ultimate God’s Strength lets him deal large bonus damage for 25 seconds when activated, which is proportional to his base damage and strength. God’s Strength can be improved by Aghanim’s Scepter so that his allies also deal more damage.

Sven- Hype

Sven is always eager to charge into a fight. He stuns grouped enemies as he wades into battle, and once he ignites his damage-boosting ultimate, a few swings of his massive sword are often more than enough to slay his foes.

Sven- Biography

“Sven is the illegitimate son of a Vigil Knight, born to a Pallid Meranth, raised in the Shadeshore Ruins. Because his father violated the Vigil Code, he was executed, and his mother was shunned by her savage race. As a result, Sven believes that honor is not found in social order, but in oneself. After caring for his mother during her creeping death, he enlisted as a novice in the Vigil Knights, though he never revealed his identity. He went to his father’s school for 13 years, where he acquired the rigid code that declared his existence an abomination. On the day he took his oath, he seized the Outcast Blade, shattered the Sacred Helm, and burned the Codex in the sacred flame of Vigil. He left Vigil Keep, forever alone, following his own code to the last rune. Still a Knight, yes… but a Rogue Knight.”
