Skywrath Mage: “Even on this fallen field, I dedicate my powers to the lofty Skywrath.”
Dragonus, the Skywrath Mage, is an intelligence hero from DotA and Dota 2. He is a ranged combat unit of the Radiant. In the game, he can take on the role of a support or nuker. In combination with other heroes, Skywrath Mage can be a powerful warrior who can effectively fight enemy heroes with his combined abilities. Ancient Seal in particular lends itself to starting fights, silencing enemy heroes, and reducing their resistance to magic, so it should be used before other abilities to maximize damage dealt and minimize opposition. Concussive Shot selects an enemy hero within a certain radius, damaging and slowing him as well as all surrounding units for a few seconds. Skywrath Mage’s abilities are heavily dependent on his intelligence and mana regeneration. Arcane Bolt, for example, shoots a projectile at an enemy unit whose damage depends on Skywrath Mage’s Intelligence. His Ultimate, on the other hand, can do a lot of damage within a small radius and even lose its cooldown completely with the help of Aghanim’s Scepter, but it is also very mana-intensive and therefore requires a suitable regeneration.
Skywrath Mage- Hype
Deadly and fragile in equal measure, Skywrath Mage quickly destroys his enemies with a barrage of powerful magic. He silences foes while increasing their vulnerability to spells, meaning he has no trouble vaporizing any who stand against him.
Skywrath Mage- Biography
“As a high-ranking mage in the court of the Cruel Horst, Dragonus leads a troubled existence. Sworn from birth to protect the Throne of Claws, he hates the current Skywrath Queen with all his heart. As a youthful highborn, he was friend and companion to the eldest Skywrath princess, Shendelzare, heir to the throne of the Eyrie. He had loved her dearly and steadfastly, but when his studies required it, he turned to arcane lore and the high arts of Skywrath sorcery.
Obsessed with celestial matters, he did not notice the mundane portents of a court treachery that was emerging as a conspiracy against Shendelzare, and the opportunity to thwart it eluded him. When the court was shaken by a swift and ruthless coup, he broke away from his studies only to discover that his oldest and dearest friend was lost to him. The Thorn Nest was now owned by Shendelzare’s younger sister, and Dragonus was powerless. The magic of a Skywrath mage serves only the sworn protectors of the Skywrath successor; to turn against the nest would leave him defenseless. He therefore clings to his office in the hopeful belief that one day he will be restored to the rightful position of his true love. In the meantime, his secret is known only to the goddess Scree’auk, whose magic has already transformed the disfigured physical creature Shendelzare into the embodiment of her mere desire for vengeance.
While he dreams of his beloved queen’s return to Cruel Horst, he dreams even more desperately of fully restoring Shendelzare’s physical form. His duplicity at court torments him, since he is of a noble and kind-hearted nature; but the very worst torment is the idea of what hatred this Vengeful Spirit holds for him in her heart.”
Heroes (Dota 2)
The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.
Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.
