Heroes (Dota 2)

The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.

Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.

Razor, the Lightning Revenant (Lightning Spirit), is an agility hero from DotA and Dota 2. He is a ranged combat unit of Dire. Razor can take the roles of a Carry, Durabler and Nukers in the game. On the one hand, Razor can deal large area damage, but also specifically weaken and defeat individual enemy heroes. His Static Link ability allows him to take attack damage from enemy heroes and strengthen himself, while Unstable Current makes him permanently faster and he can additionally passively counter enemy heroes’ abilities and punish them with damage. With Plasma Field he deals area damage that emanates from him and affects a complete radius around him, and with his Ultimate Eye of the Storm he damages the weakest unit within a slightly smaller radius. Therefore, Razor can best use both abilities in combat when he is literally in the middle of the battle. If you improve his Ultimate ability with Aghanim’s Scepter, it can also damage enemy buildings or barracks and even the enemy’s Ancient. Besides, Razor appears in Dota 2’s tutorial as the Dragon Knight’s opponent and is thus introduced to every new player early on.
