Phantom Assassin: “Where falls my shadow, fells my blade.”
Mortred, the Phantom Assassin, is an agility heroine from DotA and Dota 2. She is a melee unit of Dire whose abilities make her an assassin who can also act from ambush. In the game, she can take on the role of a Carry and an Escaper. With Stifling Dagger, Mortred can throw a dagger that deals damage to enemy units and slows down their movement speed. Phantom Strike is useful for teleporting Mortred to a unit. If it is an enemy unit, Phantom Assassin’s attack speed is increased for the next four attacks. Blur works passively, letting Mortred dodge enemy attacks and disappear on the enemy mini-map when she is actually within sight of enemy units. Phantom Assassin’s Ultimate Coup de Grâce is also passive, granting her a chance to land an increased critical hit with her normal attacks and Stifling Dagger. Aghanim’s Scepter does not improve the Ultimate.
Phantom Assassin- Hype
As soon as Phantom Assassin finds an easy prey, she strikes. She jumps to her target and mercilessly dismembers it, while dodging the opponent’s attacks with ease. And without any warning, her next attack can prove to be exceedingly deadly.
Phantom Assassin- Biography
“Prophecies select children to be raised by the Sisters of the Veils, from an order that sees assassinations as a sacred part of the natural order. The Veiled Sisters identify their targets with the help of meditation and utterances of an oracle. They accept no treaties and pursue no political or economic goals. Their assassinations follow no agenda and appear completely random: the likelihood of being eliminated is as great for a person of great power as it is for a peasant or well digger. Whatever pattern the assassinations follow is known only to them. They treat their targets like offerings and death at their hands is an honor. Raised with no identity except their order, each Phantom Assassin can take the place of another; their numbers are unknown. Perhaps there are many, perhaps only a few. Nothing of what lies beneath the Phantom Veil is known. Only that this one, from time to time, when no one is listening, sets her veil in motion with a whisper of her name: Mortred.”
Heroes (Dota 2)
The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.
Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.
