Heroes (Dota 2)
The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.
Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.
Nyx Assassin: “My purpose is clear, my targets doomed.”
Nyx Assassin Nyx Assassin Icon.png (Nyx Assassin) is an agility hero from DotA and Dota 2. He is a melee unit of the Dire. Like every assassin in the game, Nyx Assassin has the ability of concealment and easily gets his opponents in his clutches, being good at resisting any opposition, be it physical or magical. Therefore, in the game he can take on the role of a Disabler and Nukers. His abilities as a Disabler are most evident in his first three abilities, Impale, Mana Burn, and Spiked Carapace. With Impale, Nyx Assassin can stun and damage entire groups of enemies, Mana Burn destroys portions of mana supplies based on an enemy hero’s intelligence, and Spiked Carapace reflects damage in the form of a stun back to the source of the damage taken, undoing the damage Nyx Assassin would have received immediately after activation. With his Ultimate, Nyx Assassin can temporarily turn invisible and gains a bonus to his own movement speed. If Nyx Assassin attacks in this state, causing the invisibility to be interrupted, he receives a relatively large bonus damage on the first hit, which usually allows him to defeat enemies quickly. With Aghanim’s Scepter, Nyx Assassin gets a new ability that allows him to dig in, improving his other abilities.
Nyx Assassin- Hype
Nyx Assassin is always on the hunt for easy prey. When he roams the forest invisibly and has spotted his victim, he can shred it with his deadly claws, impale it on stun spikes, and then repel any counterattacks with his reflective armor.
Nyx Assassin- Biography
“Deep in the archives of Ultimyr, stored among scholarly treatises on dragon cladistics and books full of untranslatable spells, lies an ancient volume on strange insects. Compiled by scholars, the book describes the telepathic gifts of the Zealot Scarab, a strange species of social insect with abilities unique in all seven planes.
Unlike most of the other larvae in his colony, Nyx Assassin did not emerge from metamorphosis with the lumbering mind and blunt limbs typical of the worker caste of his species. He was destined for a special transformation, guided by Nyx’s favor. He was the chosen one, selected from the many anointed by an extract from the Kingdess. Not all survive the dark blessings of the Queen’s chamber, but he hatched with a piercing mind and blade-like claws – his jaws slice the air and his thoughts he projects directly into the minds of others. Of all the Zealot scarabs, only he was chosen for the highest calling. After his transformation, he was reborn by the favor of Nyx, with abilities that destined him for a single activity: to kill in the name of his goddess.”
