Heroes (Dota 2)
The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.
Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.
Naga Siren: “The song of war commences.”
Slithice, the Naga Sire, is an agility heroine from DotA and Dota 2. She is a Radiant melee heroine whose abilities are suitable for fighting individual enemies but also for use in team battles. In the game, she can take on the role of a Carry, Disabler, Pusher and Escaper. Through Mirror Image, Naga Siren creates three illusions of herself, but they deal and take less damage than the original. While Naga Siren casts Mirror Image, she is briefly invulnerable, allowing her to dodge enemy abilities. With Ensnare, she can trap an enemy unit in a net from which it cannot escape. Naga Siren’s third ability, Rip Tide, lets her and her illusions hit surrounding enemies with a wave of water that damages them and reduces their armor stats. Song of the Siren, Naga Siren’s ultimate, puts enemies in a large radius around Naga Siren into stasis, rendering them unable to act or move, but also unable to be attacked. Song of the Siren’s effect moves with it and can be ended early by Song of the Siren Cancel. Naga Siren’s ultimate can be upgraded with Aghanim’s Scepter to heal your team during its effect.

Naga Siren first prevents her enemies from escaping with shackles and then puts an end to them together with an army of mirror images. The shrill sound of her voice disables all enemies near her, which can be used by her allies for an ambush or a quick retreat.

“Among the high guards of the Slithereen there is a solemn oath which is recited before many battles: No Slithereen shall fail. In truth, these words are also an oath, as those who fail in their duty are banished from the order. Those who fail are not slithereen. Once the most highly respected of her race, Slithice has commanded an entire battalion for many years, using her impressive voice as her greatest weapon. Strong, lithe, serpentine, she has led the deadly Guardians in defense of the Deeps and for the well-being of the sunken cities. But in the final battle of Crey, they were driven back by the marauding Leviathan army in search of tributes to their god Maelrawn. After the long and bloody assault, as the dead were carried from the sunken halls, only a single diamond-studded chalice was missing from the treasury. Of their hundreds of guards, only a handful survived, but their bravery and sacrifice had little impact. What mattered was that some of the treasure had been stolen. Honor had been destroyed. So Naga Siren was cast out. Banished to seek the stolen chalice. Even though she would return a hundred times her weight in golden treasure, she is doomed to live apart until the day she returns the stolen chalice. No gold in the world is worth the same as the honor she has lost.”
