Heroes (Dota 2)
The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.
Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.
Lycan: “The rogue wolf comes.”
Banehallow of Ambry, the Lycan (Werewolf), is a strength hero from DotA and Dota 2. He is a very strong melee unit of the Dire that can transform into a Werewolf. In the game, Lycan can take on the role of a Carry, Jungler, Pusher and Durabler. Lycan can quickly inflict great damage to enemy units in close combat. Summon Wolves summons two wolves to fight alongside Lycan. These have the ability Critical Strike (starting at level 2), Permanent Invisibility (starting at level 3), and Rain themselves (starting at level 4), depending on the level of the ability. However, the wolves only remain temporarily and should you summon new wolves, the previously summoned ones die. Howl allows Lycan to provide a damage bonus to himself, allied heroes, and the units they control, based on a percentage of Lycan’s damage points and the wolves. Feral Impulse passively increases the damage and attack speed of Lycan and nearby allies. Lycan’s Ultimate Shapeshift allows him to transform into a werewolf, giving him bonus damage, increased night vision, and additional attack speed. While in this form, he and all units under his control move at maximum movement speed and cannot be slowed. Aghanim’s Scepter does not improve Lycan’s Ultimate.
Lycan- Hype
Lycan destroys his opponents as a human or wolf with sharp claws and powerful fangs. He summons invisible wolves to scout unknown terrain and then transforms into one himself, giving him the speed and strength to destroy his opponents.
Lycan- Biography
“Banehallow was once born a noble descendant of the House of Ambry, the most powerful of the rural castes in the ancient kingdom of Slom. Shortly before the disintegration of the kingdom, when the king’s will became more and more strange and his court more and more populated by sorcerers and charlatans, it was the House of Ambry that first rose up against the greed of the crown. Instead of homage and fealty, they sent six thousand blades to the capital, where they were brutally slaughtered in the massacre of Apostates. And then, once again, the old doctrine proved true: whoever stabbed the king in the back should also cut off his head. Enraged by the betrayal, the king had the entire Ambry bloodline wiped out, sparing only the lord of the house and his youngest son, Banehallow. Before the eyes of the entire royal court and the disgraced lord chained to the marble floor, the king ordered his mages to turn the child into a wolf, so that he might bite through his own father’s throat. ‘Do this,’ the king sounded, ‘to teach Lord Ambry the bite of treachery in his own flesh.’ Powerful spells were unleashed and the youth was transformed. But though he lost his old body, his spirit remained intact. Thus, instead of his father’s exposed neck, he lunged at his tormentors and tore them to pieces. A whole dozen of the royal guards fell victim to the wolf’s teeth before they managed to chase the beast out into the night. Lord Ambry’s laughter still resounded as the king plunged his sword into his chest. Now Banehallow, the last heir of the House of Ambry, walks the world as Lycan, half warrior, half wolf, seeking vengeance for all that has been taken from him.”
