Heroes Dota 2 – Luna

Heroes (Dota 2)

The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.

Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.

Luna: “The Moon Rider has arrived.”

Luna, the Moon Rider, is an heroine from DotA and Dota 2. She is a Radiant ranged fighter and rides into battle on her mount Nova. In addition, Luna is the heroine with the highest default speed in the game. In the game, Luna can take on the role of a nuker and a carry. Lucent Beam damages and stuns enemies, and the passive ability Moon Glaive lets Luna’s gleams jump between enemies up to five times within a radius to cause area-of-effect damage. However, the number of enemies hit is as limited as the range. The Lunar Blessing ability, also passive, increases the damage of surrounding units and also increases Luna’s own night vision. Luna’s Ultimate Eclipse deals damage around her equal to her Lucent Beam and causes a 10-second solar eclipse, but does not stun enemies. Aghanim’s Scepter can be used to increase the number of beams and hits, as well as the duration of the Ultimate.

Luna- Hype

Luna rides nimbly into battle and maltreats her opponents with leaping gleams. In threatening situations, she calls down the power of the moon from the sky in the form of bundled rays and destroys all who stand in her way.

Luna- Biography

“How could she have become that? She was once a plague to the land, a merciless leader of men and beasts, able to spread fear and terror wherever she ventured. Now she was far from her home, half mad from hunger and months of wandering. Her army was long dead or worse. As she stood at the edge of an ancient forest, two glowing eyes stared at her from an elder branch. A deadly beauty sought a meal in the growing dusk. Silently she turned and disappeared. Rage overcame her. Clutching a rusty dagger, she pursued the beast to regain at least a piece of her past glory, but she was not to catch her prey. Three times she drove the creature back and forth between the rocks and the trees, and each time she saw the fading shadow disappear deeper and deeper into the forest. But the full moon shone brightly and she could easily follow the creature’s path. When she reached a clearing on a high hill, a cat-like animal sat there, waiting intently. When the woman drew her dagger, the beast reared up and roared vigorously. It seemed her time had come in this strange place. She stood there, calm and ready. But in a flash, the beast grabbed the dagger and disappeared into the forest. Silence. Hooded figures approached. In reverent tones they explained that she had been chosen, guided and tested by Selemene, Goddess of the Moon. Unknowingly, she had endured the sacred rites of the Dark Moon, Warriors of the Night Silver Forest.

She was given a choice: join the Dark Moon and pledge herself to the service of the Selemene, or disappear and never return. She did not hesitate for a second. Facing her absolution, she renounced her bloody past and assumed a new identity as Luna of the Dark Moon, the dreaded Moon Rider, the ruthless and ever-loyal guardian of the Night Silver Forest.”
