Lina: “Wanna play with fire?”
Lina the Slayer is an intelligence heroine from DotA and Dota 2. The Slayer is characterized by her mastery of fire. She is a ranged fighter and belongs to the Radiant. In the game, she can take on the role of a nuker, disabler and support. With her spells, which have a relatively long range, Lina can cause large area damage and damage entire groups of enemy units with Dragon Slave or stun them with Light Strike Array. Her passive ability Fiery Soul also allows her to temporarily give herself increased attack and movement speed with each ability she uses. The maximum accumulation of Fiery Soul is three instances, the duration of which resets when additional abilities are used. Her Ultimate Laguna Blade allows Lina to inflict great damage on an enemy hero by attacking them with a lightning bolt. Laguna Blade ignores magic immunity and is one of the strongest nuker abilities in the game. As a result, she can be a useful semi-carry in the early and mid-game, but can still deal a lot of damage in the later stages. Aghanim’s Scepter can be used to increase Laguna Blade’s range and damage.
Lina- Hype
Lina is as deadly as she is fragile, striking down all enemies she encounters alone. Her attack speed increases with each spell she casts, so few can survive her barrage of flames and lightning.
Lina- Biography
“The sibling rivalries between Lina, the Slayer, and her younger sister Rylai, the Crystal Maiden, were legendary in the temperate regions where they spent their quarrelsome childhoods together. Lina always had the advantage, because while Crystal was guileless and naive, Lina’s fiery zeal was determined by cleverness and deviousness. The enervated parents of these incompatible offspring lived on half a dozen homesteads, losing one to fire, the next to ice, before realizing that life would be easier if the children were separated. As the elder, Lina was sent far south to live with a patient aunt in the sweltering desert of Misrule, a climate that proved more than comfortable for the fiery Slayer. Her arrival made a lasting impression on the sleepy locals and more than one would-be suitor burned his fingers or went home with singed eyebrows after his advances were rebuffed. Lina is proud and confident and nothing can dampen her fire.”
Heroes (Dota 2)
The heroines and heroes (original: “Heroes”) are the primary playable entities in DotA and Dota 2. In a game, each player takes control of one of the 112 playable heroines and heroes. Each hero and heroine is a character with different attributes, abilities and roles. Each heroine and hero can also be categorized by the default attacks, which happen either in melee or ranged attacks.
Valve plans to develop their own heroines and heroes for Dota 2 after the release of the classic heroines and heroes from DotA Allstars, as Erik Johnson previously announced in a 2014 interview. After the release of Arc Warden in December 2015 and that of Underlord in August 2016, the first hero developed exclusively for Dota 2, Monkey King, appeared in winter 2016, although it was at least based on concepts from classic DotA and appeared there as an event boss opponent. The Dueling Fates update announced in August 2017 confirmed the release of two completely redesigned heroes.
